2025 Draft: EDGE

What are your thoughts on Mykell Williams

Here's his highlight tape. At the halfway mark is where he sacks our very own elusive Joe Milton with an inside move.

if we trade a bit down and hunter graham carter are gone this is the guy I would strongly consider

You just inspired me lol
I just realized they not only have Capehart spelled wrong but that he's returning to Clemson. So is Duce d%#*!@t these mock Sims are a waste of time this early lol

Jordan Burch looks like another Keion White to me. I know White has underperformed this year, but I think that's more about coaching than talent. Rare to see guys that big with that kind of movement skills. Big fan.

I like him too but as you say he's another White. That's not a problem because I see the Pats having two needs on the edge. firstly a bigger guy on the strong side which Burch seems to fit nicely (I'd like to know what his arm length is though) and a more twitched up wide 9 type DE as a pass rush specialist. What I'm trying to say is that we draft Burch, we'll still need another more twitched up bendy EDGE guy.

I remember White first two games. He seemed to be a monter. And then something started to go wrong.

I did this with OTs so here's the same for EDGE rushers. The bolded name may tell you why I'm particularly excited to post this.

True Pass Set Win rate amongst notable pass rushers:

Abdul Carter - 35.3%
Bradyn Swinson - 33.9%
Princely Umanmielen - 32.4%
Jack Sawyer - 30%
James Pearce - 29.5%
Mike Green - 28.9%
Donovan Ezeiruaku - 26.1%
Nic Scourton - 24.1%
Landon Jackson - 21.7%
Shemar Stewart - 21.1%
Kyle Kennard - 21%
Nice job I think when it's all said and done we ain't sniffing either Carter or Hunter thanks again Jerod!! That said the Next 3 can add we had no Pass Rush last year.

Someone I really need to watch is Oluwafemi Oladejo from UCLA. He measured in a 6'2 1/2", 261lbs with 33.5" arms. He switched to an EDGE rusher 2 games into last season after having played off-ball linebacker up to that point and ended up with 19 hurries and 7 sacks. He even played 24 snaps as a slot corner. In Senior Bowl practices they had him lined up outside as an EDGE at 3-tech and at the 4i gap. And to top it all, he had two sacks in the game last night although one was unblocked.

And the dude is built

(More to come)

My guess is that he's best suited as an OLB in a 3-4, But he could be used as a wide-9 (which Vrabel uses), a 3-tech on passing downs and even as an off-ball linebacker. Don't know if he'll start at any of those positions but has a role as a really useful multi purpose depth option with room to develop.

PFF have him as their 133rd ranked player.

PFF is notoriously late in removing names of those returning to school I've noticed.

Finally a Femi Oladejo highlight vid to share. I don't think he's a twitched up edge rusher from this short video. I think he's primarily a linebacker that can be used on the edge - he'd be an awesome defensive depth/rotantional piece that can cover a number of roles.

With the news that Myles Garrett has requested a trade from Cleveland, we can probably kiss good bye to any hopes of getting Abdul Carter. Unless they've decided they like Shadeur/Cam.

Here's a thought...

Browns trade Garrett to the Raiders for Maxx Crosby?

Agreed, that and the news that Hunter is adamant on being a full time wr/cb, an idea I hate, leads me to a question I don’t really have an answer to: do you draft hunter or trade that pick?

I do: Trade Down. Multiple times if possible. Use those Day 1 & 2 picks on LT, DE & DT. Then WR. Then CB & RB...
