Although there's a slim chance he stays, I'm putting my money on Vrabel canning him. Vrabel made it clear that "Entitlement" is going away and also canning him would send a message to the rest of the team that this won't be tolerated (that there's a new "Sheriff" in town).
Vrabel also emphasized a “clean slate” so I tend to feel the opposite. If he gets off on the DV I would guess Vrabel gives him a chance as long as he commits to staying on the straight and narrow going forward.

Could be. We'll see.

It didn't work out so well for Len Bias.
Pretty sure Bias was smoking coke, and probably a lot of it.
I've done all this ****, my heart used to pump violently when I smoked it, but it was so awesome I did it anyway.
I don't even know anything about it today, it was 35-40 years ago.
If they found coke in Peppers wallet, it was probably a gram or less, which is nothing.

Based on some of the comments I've read on here, it seems that some people don't look at Cocaine as being that big of a deal. I worked as a Counselor in a Detox in Massachusetts for two years. It is a big deal, even if people just use it in "Moderation". Is this the point that we've gotten to in Society now? Cocaine use is no biggie? Has it ever occurred to people that many cases of DV happen when one or both of the people involved are under the influence of one or more substances? Personally, what someone does in their private life regarding whatever substance is their business, but the moment it adversely affect's other people, then that's a problem.
Can we get a little Vrabel emoji for the likes?
Thanks

The best player the Bill Belichick coached on defense EVER that he lionizes like crazy and puts above everyone else was a massive cokehead and they won multiple rings with him.

Honestly the culture argument is so overrated to me. Winning is the only thing that establishes a winning culture. The Chiefs worst season in 7 years is the AFCCG and, aside from this year which is tbd, they've never done worse than going into OT. That's a winning culture and it's been full of headcases and character issue players from day 1 along with tons of off team distractions. They still are locked in on winning. As stated, the first winning culture Belichick was part of had a coach had their team leader and best player being a total headcase. We used to bring guys like Corey Dillon and Randy Moss in and they got in line because we were winning.

Winning is the equalizer. Get players who can win, and then figure out who are capable of being leaders and develop a culture around what's working. We don't need a bunch of boyscouts who are mid but good character guys.
This is true, there is danger bringing in too many of the wrong type of player. It works as long as the good guys are in position to hold the bad guys accountable on the field. As soon as the balance changes, things can go south quickly. From the team perspective off the field bad boys are less impactful than locker room malcontents. Moss and Thomas are examples of talented players that produced when the wanted to. Moss was great when he first came to the team and was in awe of TB12 and BB. Once that time passed and he wanted to build his stats to get a new contract he became a distraction. Peppers will be ok in the locker room if it is just coke as long has he does his job.

Has it ever occurred to you that correlation is not causation?

How often do those under the influence of one or more substances not commit DV?

100% of DV cases were committed by people who were breathing. So by your logic anyone breathing is an abuser, right?

Anyone is theoretically capable of Murder. Most people don't commit murder. I never said that EVERY case of DV involved whatever substances, I just said that there's a notable degree of it involved. There's probably just as many DV cases where one or both parties were sober. Some people just get off on controlling and hurting others, with or without a substance in them.

How about this: Perhaps the NFL should just make it so that players can do whatever they want. Coke (powder and rock), Heroin, Meth, DV, DWI, Child Abuse, Steroids, HGH, and whatever else, should just not be grounds for any disciplinary action by the NFL or Teams whatsoever. Let's just try that and see how it works out. It's just a little Coke. It's just a little driving under the influence. It's just a little smack across your wife's face. It's just a little heroin. Because apparently I'm being too rigid and intolerant. Cool?

Here you explicitly link substance use as causal to DV

Here you try to obfuscate your claim of causality, in response to my pointing out that correlation is not causation. And you threw in the underlined extraneous comment just to muddy the waters.

It’s not about every case, it’s not whether it’s involved, the point is that the use of one or more substances is not clearly causal, that’s just your assumption. Or more accurately, your assertion for rhetorical purposes. Unfortunately since it’s a specious assertion it just undermines your rhetoric.

If he were Ed Reed I would want him on the team. Jabril Peppers I am 50:50
So the issue isn’t that he is a captain who was in possession of cocaine, the issue is he is a captain in possession of cocaine who isn’t good enough to be worth the the trouble.

I was joking. Its not a moral question for me. Its just I would like to have players that are reliable. Coke user does not scream out “You can count on me”

I have to think he plea deals the DV to something everyone can live with.
But, the trial is underway. Sure, he could, but I don’t think a palatable deal is on the table. He’s dumb: the only reason this went to trial is that he refused to pay her 200k or so to change her mind about testifying, and now his career is on the line.

Interesting

bribing a witness is just fine?
===========
Is his career on the line.

If convicted, it seems that he will still have a career. The is issues are punishment by the court and by the NFL.
