Actually he doesn’t agree to it, he won’t have a choice. If he agrees to enter the drug abuse program or already has and gets tested regularly do you still not want him on the team?

I'd say they are probably about the same for longterm effects honestly. So many steroid users have heart issues down the road which is the big threat of longterm cocaine use.I dono man...a lot of the juicers get mentally addicted to them because they want/need to constantly look a certain way.
As for JP, who gives a **** about him having coke....homie needs to get the DV charge dropped though.
It surely is not irrelevant, thats for certain. You open the door with Look how honest he is, he admitted to having coke. Well here's the thing - in domestic violence cases, 40 to 60% of them involve drugs and alcohol. JP is an admitted drug user... you draw the conclusion... by the time you object, the damage has been doneSorry, pretty much all of that argument is wildly irrelevant and inadmissible. As for your last sentence, he admitted to possession of the cocaine the night of the incident and well before any lawyers were involved.
True but there is a lot of different kinds of drugs with very different effects. Your going to have a hard time finding a wife beater who just smokes pot, but you will find plenty who drink. It surely is not irrelevant, thats for certain. If he were Ed Reed I would want him on the team. Jabril Peppers I am 50:50If he agrees to enter the drug abuse program or already has and gets tested regularly do you still not want him on the team?

But we're not talking about pot are we? Thats not the drug that's been brought up, that's in the mind of the jury...True but there is a lot of different kinds of drugs with very different effects. Yeah, there are actual criminal charges for domestic violence. This is going to an actual trial??!!
The Commonwealth is still full of overpaid, self-serving, entitled bureaucrats.
If it falls under "Conduct detrimental to the team" or any other clause in his contract (which I hope it does), I hope they don't have to pay him any of his remaining contract or at least don't have to pay most of it.If he’s found guilty of the DV, I wonder if they get any cap relief? Surely they put language on contracts post-Hernandez around conduct?
Just don’t know if that means they don’t pay, or also get cap relief. Man, both safety re-signs look bad for different reasons
Yes but you were saying "drugs". Drugs include prescriptions as well. Coke doesn't make someone violent if they are violent already such as football players. Coke heightens your senses, makes you more aware on the football field like Adderall but in a different way. I'm not pro coke....I think it should remain illegal. I'm just speaking from experience where some might not.But we're not talking about pot are we? Thats not the drug that's been brought up, that's in the mind of the jury...
But that's not the point... The point is to refute the notion that he's a "good guy" because he admitted possession... The simple fact is they found it in his wallet... He is better served by admitting possession and getting, well in this case, the charges basically dismissed... Then trying to use that to say "what a good guy, he cooperated"? Yeah I wouldn't let that fly... But that's just me
sure, i get that. but honestly, in that setting, what drug would your mind gravitate to? the one that has already been mentioned?Yes but you were saying "drugs". Drugs include prescriptions as well. Yeah sounds like it was a bad situation going on there if DV was involved.sure, i get that. but honestly, in that setting, what drug would your mind gravitate to?
Many people have died via steroid related effects there was a whole epidemic of pro wrestlers dropping dead in their 30's and 40's. The longterm effects of both are very similar and mostly cardiovascular.Hmm which would I rather worry about...coke and its addictiveness and/or death vs roids and its slew of side effects...
I'm partial to keeping my balls the way they are thank you very much....

The big difference is in the immediate. You can be irresponsible and OD on cocaine if you are reckless. But something like near 80% of cocaine related deaths involve some other drug. By itself, I don't find it dangerous beyond potentially being a gateway.
He had possession of cocaine in his house while a team captain. Would you be so forgiving if it was crack?Who said he was doing coke before a game? Who said he was doing coke weekly? All we know is he had some in his possession one time. A lot of assumptions being made here
It didn't work out so well for Len Bias. Many people have died via steroid related effects there was a whole epidemic of pro wrestlers dropping dead in their 30's and 40's. The longterm effects of both are very similar and mostly cardiovascular.

Based on some of the comments I've read on here, it seems that some people don't look at Cocaine as being that big of a deal. I worked as a Counselor in a Detox in Massachusetts for two years. It is a big deal, even if people just use it in "Moderation". Is this the point that we've gotten to in Society now? Cocaine use is no biggie? Has it ever occurred to people that many cases of DV happen when one or both of the people involved are under the influence of one or more substances? Personally, what someone does in their private life regarding whatever substance is their business, but the moment it adversely affect's other people, then that's a problem. He had possession of cocaine in his house while a team captain.
