Is it possible that the #1 pick wont be as valuable as we thought this year?

I’m not going to read into this report too much, I do still think they ultimately take Cam Ward.

But I’m really starting to get the impression that these teams would not value this year’s options enough to trade up significant capital to move up for.

We definitely were not going to get the Bryce Young trade haul, and I’m not so sure we would have even been offered an extra 1st. Telling myself this at least makes it all sting less.

A extra second and fourth or two thirds even could add some playmakers
Free Agency will be critical.
I think Tee Higgins should be full court pressed.
Send Vrabel, Maye McDaniels to him:

Abdul Carter or a trade down is what I see.
As the OP is pointing out though if the talent isn't there to the point we want to trade back then who's moving up and how much are they giving up?

Loser teams don't even know how to lose properly.

#1 overall to a team that doesn't need a franchise potential QB is solid gold.
#4 is a piss poor consolation prize no matter how you spin it.

Intentional or not, Mayo and VanPelt not sitting half the team is a massive eff-up.
At that time of year, everyone is banged up and a legitimate rest candidate.

Cam ward is the real deal, and the nfl teams will start to realize that more and more as we get closer to the draft is my prediction

people will be vying like crazy to take cam

Travis Hunter says hello.

This is sickening because we should have been in that position. Rot in Hell Jarod MAYO!!

I don’t know if he will be there at 4 based on the titan‘s quote:
Is cam ward a „generational talent“?

I don’t know college qbs that well; but seems to me the first successful 2-way player and heisman guy is definition of generational

If Hunter and Carter go before Shedeur, the #4 pick will be very valuable. If they don’t, we will wind up with one of them, most likely Carter.
It’s very likely to go Hunter, Carter, Ward.

I don’t think teams are high enough on Sanders to trade up. He’s not a top 10 talent and teams aren’t going to trade the farm for him

I think they are talking about Hunter as well.

As far as the Patriots go I think they can get a 2nd to move down to around 8.

I think it's impossible to know what we would have gotten because Titans need a QB and we could have traded it to a team that needed a QB.

This is a poor year at the top of the draft. Us having the first pick wouldn’t change that. In fact we’d probably be cursing our luck that we couldn’t get a massive haul to trade down.

We‘re guaranteed to have Hunter, Carter or one of the QBs there for us at 4. The Raiders or Jets may be interested in one at 6 and 7. We might get a 2 and a 3 to move down. That’s still better than nothing and we can still get an OT, Graham, MacMillan or one of the Georgia pass rushers.

The nightmare scenario is getting stuck at 4 and having to reach for a player. At the minute I think the players I target there are Graham and Walker if that’s the case but it’s not ideal.

There's reports out there that Sanders is not a high R1 talent, and may not even be a R1 guy. He very well could be the guy that drops to #4. I sort of agree with @zimmy, it's Graham or Carter, not Walker.

Phil Perry made a lot of sense this week, stating that the highest paid positions in the NFL are QB, CB, Edge, LT and WR. Not sure about the order, but the order is irrelevant. The Pats have QB and CB all set, with guys on rookie deals. It makes sense to take Carter at #4 and then three of the top five most expensive positions are manned by young guys on rookie deals.

Still more valuable than four.

Eat a Satchel of Richards Mayo and staff.
