Seems the NFL may be feeling heat and getting touchy about criticism about favoritism for the KC chief Officials. They just fined Mixon for a published quote from Houshmandzadeh.

"Everybody knows how it is playing up here. You can never leave it into the refs' hands," Mixon said. "The whole world sees, man, what it is. When it comes down to it, you can never leave it into the refs' hands. It's all good, though."

Former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh posted in agreement with Mixon, writing "Why play the game if every 50/50 call goes with the Chiefs. These officials are [trash] & bias."

Sports Illustrated originally attributed Houshmandzadeh's quote to Mixon in a story. The NFL then cited the "50/50" quote in levying the fine to the running back, according to Mixon and his agent, Peter Schaffer.

"I'm getting fined by the @nfl for what someone else said. What's next? I get fined by them for Connor McDavid cross-checking an opponent on a @nhl game!" Mixon posted on social media Wednesday.

Say what? Mixed-up Mixon line lands fine for RB

Jesus this is really embarrassing. So now not only do the Chiefs get special treatment but if you are even remotely related to ("generally aware" anyone?) someone who recognizes and says something about this special treatment then you also get in trouble. God forbid they actually just fix the problem. Anything for the golden boy and the Swifties.

Also might end up causing a Streisand Effect here where they end up drawing excess attention to this issue by fining someone talking about it without just cause.

Ross I find what Mixon did not say was compelling, if not overwhelming....

Fine Aikman too.

He said defensive players around the NFL are frustrated how the refs kiss Mahomes axx. Portnoy ripped him for the state farm soccer flop.

How many times have you seen Mahomes run for the sidelines and as the defense lets up not touching him, only for Mahomes to stop and turn upfield gaining 5 more yards?

Why rely on the league to fix it?

There are independent stats companies evaluating players.
Why not an independent stat review of refs? Publish an error rate. Get the information to fans.
We already have a system where the television coverage - multiple angles, slow motion - is far ahead and far faster than what the refs see.
So 100 million people know instantly that the refs blew a call.
The league is naturally defensive - and it's a hard job.

But so is being a QB or corner. It's a hard job. And if you make too many mistakes, there's someone else in the pipeline eager to take your job. If the media starts quoting blown call rates, the league will have enough pressure to counterbalance their conservative defensiveness. If they don't have to make changes, they won't. Never admit an error - unless you have to.

Then the refs would have additional motivation to get the calls right, and learn from their blown calls.

...this was never a problem when our guy Tommy was getting the calls, by the way...
Players weren't getting fined for complaining about the supposed Brady favoritism.

I found the most recent Chiefs game utterly unwatchable due to officiating bias. Straight WWE/NBA level. All the nonsense with Mahomes is one thing, but the Chiefs RT legitimately starts early every snap and blatantly holds on most and is never penalized.

This just confirms what we knew. Refs are in their pocket.
Of course they are. They generally have been for decades. Why do you truly think the Pats were targeted as they were and lost 1st rounders? Wasn't because of cheating I can tell you that. It was about them not bending the knee to the NFL. Another reason BB isn't coaching in the league. I bet, if you pumped him full of truth serum, the stories he would tell.

I dunno if I’ve seen this many players of a team directly call out the refs after a game. And tbh as bad as it was I don’t think it was even the worst of what we’ve seen with the refs and kc.
It wasn't even just the red herrings, which were his "flop" and the RTP calls. There were a litany of other BS calls that whet against the Texans in that game. Clear as day.

Nobody talk about that because it really would highlight the BS. I watched plenty of Chiefs games things year. The NFL is desperate to get Mahomie another SB, or actually 5 more and are starting now to prop them up. Its pathetic.

I've thought this for some time. Brady put his name on that concussion suit thing and he became public enemy #1 to the NFL. Belichick just thumbed his nose at everyone and it rubbed everyone the wrong way on Park Ave.

I have suspected the league since the rules magically changed for the Philly Super Bowl. Then Bill makes a weird "coaches decision" on a player (not to go down the rabbit hole) and surprise, Philly wins.

I'd love Bill to air the dirty laundry. Burn it down.

Perhaps. The word is out there in the mainstream media now. My guess is that they might back off their favoritism now, because all eyes are on them.

Personal foul, defense, #_____, you're not allowed to hit Patrick Mahomes. 15 yard penalty, 1st down.

Yeah i remember after one of those rtp calls as aikman is complaining during the next play you see kc holding a texans dl and zero call. It just gets comical at a point

I'm not sure what pisses me off more the phantom roughing the passer calls or this ****:

The NHL has embellishment penalties and the NBA has diving but in the NFL the player who best executes those maneuvers gets the MVP award

He certainly flops in a MVP way, so he has that going for him.
