Well, that's just stupid for reporters like Breer to be OK with that. Hamilton and Leftwich. I bet everyone in the NFL remembers them now. I bet none of them even know Locksley was interviewed by the Jets.
Patriots were very beneficial to 2 minority candidates wanting to get back into the NFL. The entire purpose of the Rooney rule.
Somehow burying the Rooney rule candidates in a wave of interviews is better? It's not, it is worse.
Your problem, like the OP is not with Breer but the NFL.
The problem prayer had is it was a sham process. It was. They knew who they wanted. They fired Mayo because who they wanted was available.
It was a kangaroo court. This isn't a debate. The whole thing was embarrassing for everyone involved.
It doesn't have to be this way. The NFL should get rid of the rule. All it does is parade around minorities like tokens and doesn't work as they intended it to.
I do think it's hilarious that you think this rule benefit it to minorities who otherwise would not have interviews. They're not going to be back in the NFL and if they are back in the NFL it's not going to be because the Patriots interviewed them. The Patriots looked at two very unserious candidates because no self-respecting candidate would take the interview.
