It's totally possible Kraft tasked Glaser with inserting herself more in the football op stuff, and then Vrabel was like "Hey - I've been here before, luckily. You can take that load back off your plate."

The buck starts and stops with Kraft. Period. Who the hell knows if Bruschi was talking about her? How you all have snowballed this nothingburger into a entire soap drama is wild to me.

Bob was looking for information and control and he asked Glaser to dig in.

You dismiss it but she was involved in football ops/culture and was very influential on Mayo. Period. We know this.

I don't think you do, haha. I don't think any of us know to what extent it was.

I'll send her a message on LinedIn and ask. Stay tuned.
Does your LinkedIn mention that you are the laziest man in L.A County and possibly the world?

I don't think you do, haha. I don't think any of us know to what extent it was.
She sat in on coach interviews as part of the interview process. She did contracts. She helped Mayo with defining team/org culture. She was already involved in contract negotiations.

See it now?

She seems to be pretty juiced in with JK. Minihan is also an idiot. Those things combined make me think she hasn't gone anywhere.

The very simple and obvious answer is that she still works for the Kraft Group in a legal capacity but is not working with the Patriots, specifically in a football-related capacity, as she was last year.

Minihane reported that she is “no longer with the Patriots” which does not mean she was fired - simply that she no longer performs work with the Patriots. Breer and others saying “no she wasn’t fired” can still be true because she wasn’t fired and didn’t need to be fired, she would just no longer be operating in the football-related capacity she was previously.

And lastly Volin is an idiot, I would believe almost anyone before him. His sources are whatever random people DM him. He reported the day after the last Pats game that AVP was already fired, nobody else corroborated it, and then he backtracked it the next day.

As always with these tools, more clickbait…I think everyone forgot about her until Mayos firing….

Take those pitchforks and get back to mucking the stables. It’s getting deep in here!

Albert Breer: Robyn Glaser is still with the Patriots
You can't believe anything Breer reports. He will say anything to get attention. He is the cry baby that whined for days about the Roonie Rule, when the Pats actually did comply. He would not shut up and it was not about race because we just had a black coach. He was fired because he was a horrible coach. The DC is black and he will be fired because he is horrible. The owner is Jewish. There is no racism in the Pats front office, but Breer still won't shut up.

That's a lot of projection my friend.

He said it was ridiculous that the Patriots interviewed two minority coaches that they had no intention of hiring. They completed these interviews on the first day after Robert Kraft press conference. This was not a serious attempt to find a head coach.

He said that they didn't take the process seriously because they already had their person in mind.

No one denies these things. They were never going to hire those guys and they were always going to hire Vrabel.

Breer is not wrong on this matter. This is not a patriot issue though. This is a league wide issue. Every single team does this.

I think that's the issue with Breer, the Jets and Bears, in the same week, did the same thing but he singled out the Patriots and didn't mention them.
This Breer is 100% wrong to call out the Patriots only who actually were more in spirit with the rule than the Bears or Jets.

I'm not sure I understand the comparison.

The Jets have interviewed everyone with a pulse, and a minority is considered the favorite for the job.

The Bears also have a million possible candidates and have still not hired anyone. They seem targeted on a few guys (Ben Johnson, Mike McCarthy), but at least it's a process.

The Patriots fired a minority and there was no process.

Still I agree the patriots did nothing wrong, and this is a league problem. Don't forget I included this part in my answer..

Breer is a local pundit. Not a national pundit. I know for a fact I heard Breer acknowledge that this happens with all teams. Because it does.

However it doesn't usually happen on the first damn day of your search, knock out the two required minority interviews and then hire the guy you was going to hire anyway. Other teams are way more subtle about it for optics.

Op obviously doesn't like the rule and probably thinks it's woke dei crap and that's what really triggered them. Breer isn't providing commentary here. He was working within the facts. It's a fact that the patriots didn't take this search seriously and interviewed two token black guys to comply with a rule that doesn't work. It's embarrassing for the league and it's embarrassing for the Krafts.

The Jets interviewed Mike Locksley for the Rooney rule. People think because they interview a ton of people they satisfy the Rooney rule. It has to be in person so that limits the people. Locksley is not getting the job.Locksley is not going to the NFL. HE was a short drive away for an in-person interview.

Bears interviewed the interim who had no chance at the job, was already interviewing for assistant jobs elsewhere. Solely to check the Rooney rule box.

Patriots interviewed 2 guys that want to get back into the NFL. They actually might get some benefit out of the interviews as their names are back in the forefront which is what the Rooney rule is about. To further careers, not to hire them for that position. The few qualified guys are going to get interviews, it's the next level of guys that can't get there because they don't get the opportunity to show they can move up.

Patriots 100% were in the spirit of the Rooney rule. Bears and Jets solely checked a box and could care less that it had no benefit to the guys they did it with.

Process? They had 2 clear top candidates, they interviewed them. Should I interview Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady for my QB position but also then interview Brock Purdy, that's dumb. If these other teams knew they could have Vrabel or Johnson for sure they wouldn't be doing all these interviews.

Well, that's just stupid for reporters like Breer to be OK with that. Hamilton and Leftwich. I bet everyone in the NFL remembers them now. I bet none of them even know Locksley was interviewed by the Jets.

Patriots were very beneficial to 2 minority candidates wanting to get back into the NFL. The entire purpose of the Rooney rule.

Somehow burying the Rooney rule candidates in a wave of interviews is better? It's not, it is worse.

I think that's where hairs can be split: Kraft Group vs Patriots.

The Krafts (on Monday): "We want to hire Vrabel or Johnson because they're the cream of the crop"

The League: "Johnson isn't allowed to interview until Thursday or Friday per our rules"

The Krafts: "Okay well we will interview Vrabel first I guess"

Vrabel: "I can't do it til Thursday, I have a couple others lined up I already committed to"

The Krafts: "Okay, well we will knock those out on Thursday/Friday and then make a decision"

The League: "No!!! You can't, you have to interview 2 minorities before you can hire anyone!!"

The Krafts: "Oh, right. Well... Let's see if we can get a couple of available guys here in the meantime who fit the bill who have fallen out of the conversation lately and get their names circulating again, I bet they would appreciate that."

The Media: "You are evil bastards, you can only interview minorities that Twitter users say are qualified enough for an interview! And you have to space them out a little bit or something. Can't you just pretend like everyone else?"

I hate to be defending the Jets, but even though Glenn and Flores don't technically qualify because they're zoom interviews, Glenn appears a leading candidate for the job. The Jets also interviewed Vance Joseph, Ron Rivera, and have requested an interview with Joe Whitt Jr. At some point multiple zoom interviews, some of which are serious, have to count for something.

I agree with Breer. Even though technically the rule is clear, the Jets certainly have more than satisfied the spirit of the Rooney rule, while the Patriots in real life, mailed it in. Lumping the two situations together would make Breer look like an idiot, especially if Glenn is hired.

I find it humorous that nearly everyone on this board thought Kraft would not fire Mayo because of the minority issue, and then Kraft essentially blew off the Rooney rule.

Not that I think the Patriots did anything wrong.
