Covington out?

I've busted BB Jrs chops on this board but I think the kid knows what he's doing.

In his first year at UofW as DC they improved in every significant statistical category defensively.

Mayo was playing politics.
I agree with what your saying., steve really did know what he was doing.Mayo knew that it was steve b that was responsible for the how well the defense played in '23, not him or covington. And i was one of the posters that busted steve ass about his mullet, or seeming to have touerrets.

As with anything, the year at Washington gave BB Jr., and BB to some degree, a deeper understanding of the players available and limitations confronted at the college level. Even though it is one year, the on the job learning experience will be invaluable when building out the UNC system.

Fantastical !
Covington must have not gotten the Bengals DC.. supposedly he interviewed. I think it's safe to say just about every position coach is gone?. I think springer stays.

And the next HC at UNC after his Dad. Poor Mayo now have to go the High School route. How the boot licker have fallen. BB never had much to say about Mayo... I wondered why but this past season answered my question.
You know what's funny PF2... Micheal holley reported that BB hounded mayo to join his staff when he was doing TV and quick slants.. mayo was reluctant.. he should have stayed in the media.. if I'm mayo go back and do media he is best suited that route... BB definitely felt slighted by him for sure.

Who isn't on the spectrum? Name one poster on PatsFans not on the spectrum. Be honest.
LOL. I haven't been officially been diagnosed but I guarantee I am.

Hes on the spectrum like his father. I'm convinced of it.
I'm not sure his facial expressions are indicative of asbergers, but I learned all this stuff 45=50 years ago and don't remember

“With the defensive coordinator role, the other most important spot on his staff, Mayo was surprisingly decisive. Even though Steve Belichick, Bill’s son, had been the Patriots’ defensive play caller in recent years while they routinely boasted top-10 units, Mayo didn’t offer him the chance to continue calling plays, according to a team source, opting instead for young defensive line coach DeMarcus Covington. Mayo offered Steve a lesser role, but the younger Belichick declined and left to become the defensive coordinator at the University of Washington.” (per The Athletic's Chad Graff)

Just one of the many poor decisions by coach Mayo.
At the risk of getting roasted on here: The guy who called the In-Game Defensive Plays for the Patriots, which despite substantial injuries the year before, boasted a Top 10 Defense, was not offered the position of DC. It was instead given to the guy that didn't call the In-Game Defensive plays for a Top 10 Defense riddled with injuries. Was this a case of "Reverse Racism". Covington was the DL Coach and didn't call the plays (and it seems as Mayo didn't call the plays either, yet he's promoted to HC). I'm just throwing that out there. Can I be the only person on here that hasn't pondered that possibility?

Mayo was very, very good on quick slants.

Kraft should have given him this deal. Stephen B would have been a much better succession plan.

I don't think you should be roasted. Reverse racism? Not sure. Maybe. Glaser is a big affirmative action advocate.

Two parts. I think it's more about the org creating separation between it and BB. Also its was's about Mayo and whatever defensive expertise he may be perceived to have and successes they may experience be credited to him and not BB Jr. (and BB)..see establishing professional brand.

Plausible.

Reverse racism is just click bait. It’s either racism or it’s not. In this case I’m guessing no, but could be following DEI protocol. Which that in itself is its own thing. Mayo picked his own guys … as he absolutely should !!! … nothing to see here

I suspect that's it's a minimum 95% certainty regarding D.I.E.

Adam Gase is another one..
I was sitting here in my recliner playing Meteor Strike and all of a sudden it came to me that labeling steve b as having touerettes may be way off. People with touerettes have facial ticks, grunt, and will yell vulger languege involuntarily.Plus it doesn't come and go, it seems that the only time he seems to do it steve b makes those facial gyrations is when hes under the stress of making defensive calls on the sidelines, on game day. So i don't know what the issue is for sure.
