The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

11 years removing a single variable is a valid discussion. We aren't discussing a season or two where you can say "oh well the roster was similarly bad". 11 years is a career worth of time to evaluate someone without a single player in multiple scenarios with multiple rosters. Especially when that variable left and won a SB and also 5 playoff wins in 3 seasons (and made the playoffs all 3 times).

Like this is kind of silly. There is a huge difference between Bill with Brady and without him and Brady has shown he is far more of a constant without Bill. 11 years is not some ridiculous sample size to evaluate. That's more than Bill Walsh's entire tenure in the league. That's the combined time Parcells was on the Giants and Jets.

It's a fair discussion on him. And I already did compare him on this board to other coaches without their top HOF QB.
Correct. Bill’s coaching record without Brady is absolutely part of his story. It’s not THE story but it’s part of it for sure. Why wouldn’t it be?

Unfortunately these clowns will fill any thread with their anti Bill BS. I apologize for my part but I'm just not built to let certain things slide and this is one hill I might never vacate. As dumb as it sounds Bill and Brady mean too much to me.
You should learn not to be triggered by facts.

Wonder if there's any truth to the rumor Bill went to UNC so he could be inducted in the HOF before RKK.

Too funny!

My prediction, he doesn't finish the season in the AP top 25.

You should learn to pay attention to them. #8rings
6 while coaching the greatest QB of all time. The other two as a co-ordinator which aren’t relevant to his legacy or this conversation. Also a Todd Bowles-esque .426 win pct post Brady. #facts #payattention

We did until a few years ago.
You keep enjoying Mayo and whoever could be next. And ignore that we had the GOAT and should/could still have him.

Sometimes you get what you ask for and it's not what you want.

If you actually read the article it’s says he signed a term sheet, which he the normal process and it’s not at all out if the ordinary that other 2 months or longer before the official contract is signed.
You fell for click bait

If BB wants to put his first ballot HOF induction in jeopardy one good way to help make that happen is pulling the rug from his commitment to UNC before the season starts for selfish reasons like Shula's record. He's not stupid or selfish enough to do something like that. Not happening.

I didn't fall for anything. Just noted a news story about UNC/Bill. Sure it's "normal process" (although there is nothing "normal" about a 6 time Super Bowl winning Head Coach joining a college program), but a term sheet is not a legal contract, and there is debate about what his buyout would be if he decided to leave. I can't imagine that he would leave UNC this year, but many here thought there was NO way Kraft would fire Mayo after one year.
