I just think he throws **** against the wall

There's a poster here who does not like Saleh: thinks he would turn Gonzo into a zone CB. I think that's a legitimate concern.

Vrabel is going to be the one deciding what defenses they are going to run. He’s not going to hire a DC who primarily runs zone if he wants them in man to man coverages most of the time.

Mentioned here:

Note Carter was apparently not well liked by the Jets players - seem to view him as too tough and causing injuries:

“Keith Carter was nobody’s favorite coach and I can say that with a lot of confidence.”

Former Jets offensive linemen Adam Pankey (who spent time with Carter in Tennessee as well) and Trystan Colon have liked posts on social media calling for Carter's firing.

Carter is a very intense coach and runs very intense practices. His reputation is as a mean-spirited coach who puts his players in danger in practice by working them too hard, often leading to increased injury risk. It's no coincidence that Carter's offensive lines are often among the most injured in football, and the 2023 Jets are evidence of that.

Vrabel, I think will be calculated in his decisions. Its the Krafts that rush everything
???

The Kraft's met many, many times with Vrabel. How is this rushed?

As far as Mayo, Kraft decided not to tear up a contract. The contract was in place when Belichick was fired. Kraft had made the decision years before he hired Mayo,

I want to apologize; for doubting Kraft, I didn’t think he had it in him to right a wrong.
But he really did, my only regret is not having Vrabel in place last year for this rebuild.
We might of had a much better draft and free agency.
Yes, Vrabel would have removed one of the reasons why we didn't sign top free agents.

However, the market was really awful. The money is indeed better spent this year.

The market was bad because the cap jumped way up so teams were able to keep their best players. Wolf made the right moves by keeping the FA$$ till this year, and also on taking Maye.
Also, we have the #4 pick cause we only won 4 games, and would likely have won 7 games with Vrabel and be picking 12th or 13th.

I’m trying to look at it through rose colored lenses. Kraft was pushing for the collaboration thing for years now, as we saw with the last few years under Belichick. That was clearly one of his goals with a new regime, given how many times he mentioned it, let alone Mayo and Wolf mentioning it. Kraft needed to see it fail. He needed a reminder of the Carroll/Grier era, a reminder of what happened then, and seeing it happen all over again this year. I doubt Kraft would have given Vrabel the final say last year (as Schefter says he has, and Shefter’s never wrong about these things), so I doubt he would have taken the job if even offered. Let’s just thank our lucky stars that no one hired him last year, that Kraft saw the light, and he’s here now with final say.

I do not think there is one iota of a chance Saleh would come here.
I am surprised they are not interviewing Wink Martindale who is interviewing with Colts and Falcons

OC there are only 3 realistic candidates for now
1. Rams QB coordinator
2. Josh Mcown
3. Josh McDaniels .

McDaniels seems like a slam dunk hire.

Is there a way we can poach Charlie Weiss Jr from Ole Miss to become future OC.

McD is not a slam dunk at all.
