Please list the number of successful QBs who have to learn a new offense after their rookie year.

It's dumb
Please pretty please can we keep running the offense that the failed coaches from last year used.

Maybe Vrabel decides it's what is best but I see no reason to automatically just stick with it.

Hard to believe they fizzled out
Clapton, Winwood and Ginger Baker
Clapton and Baker from Cream
Winwood and bass guitarist (can’t remember his name) from Traffic
Like an all-star game. Nobody takes it seriously. Nobody wanted to stay in their lane
Clapton and Winwood were the Shaq and Kobe of music. Great together but not for long.

Are you implying i'm advocating for AVPs return?

To enlighten you, keeping the same offensive scheme, doesn't mean you keep the same OC.

I've advocating a better OC that is expert-level in WC

No I'm implying that I would rather Vrabel make the decision on what offense is best for this team than Mayo. Maybe he chooses a WC offense but I'm not doing solely on default when Mayo is the guy who chose it.

If Vrabel is smart he'll run WC for 1-2 years until Drake has his feet under him. If he want to flip to EP then fine.

This is a silly take. Figure out what we are going to do and do it now. Come on man
No. What it is is a sensible path if they want to change offenses and when.

Now is WC. There should be no debate.

Nonissue if they want to bring Josh McD back, he’s certainly not going anywhere and he’s definitely a capable OC.

Build a talented team

If they pick McDaniels, they can ink him as soon as they fulfill the Rooney Rule so that could be done in a couple of days. Then they could start grabbing position coaches from other teams that were eliminated this weekend by the end of the week, or that get eliminated next weekend at the start of next week, before most of these other teams have even hired their Head Coach.

We are in a bit of uncharted territory in regards to having an HC hired so soon. Not typical. This is where they get into an advantage with being able to do interviews for staff far earlier than other teams.

Yes. That's why the media folks whining about Kraft moving too quickly are nuts. Move more slowly and not only was there a chance Vrabel gets another offer he can't easily refuse, but this way they essentially have first pick of staff. By the time the next set of new HCs are chosen and start looking around for coordinators and other staff, Vrabel will have everyone he wants already signed up.

Last year the entire senior staff were rookies or close to rookies. This year we'll have folks that don't need on-the-job training.
Experienced coaches matter - having his top guys poached was a key factor in ending Belichick's dynasty.

Had Wolf not spent the money he did on returning players, I’d cut him more slack. But what he did in free agency was a fireable offense. However, Kraft approved this.

Bobby just had a very time building on what they had. Robert Edwards not getting injured may have helped him keep his and Carroll’s job. The corpse of Terry Allen as the lead back in 1999 was brutal.
Grier's biggest failing was that he coddled his picks and spent a lot of time managing up which undermined Carrol. I hope that RKK recognizes his role in putting Carrol in the position to fail when establishing the team structure for the team under Vrabel.

Just listened to Greg Bedard on a podcast. He believes (although he thinks ownership and Vrabel will obfuscate the situation) that Vrabel will have final say on personnel. If true, then the Krafts have re-learned that lesson,

Imagine if the Pats bring Pep Hamilton and Byron Leftwich in to interview for the OC position on Tuesday and hire McDaniels on Wednesday? Bert Breer’s head would explode.
especially, if we than hire Hamilton as passing-game coordinator and QB coach. Thise were hils roles in HOU, before he was given the OC spot for a few games.

BTW, he was Herbert's QB coach when Herbert was a rookie.

I think that Hamilton would be an asset to Josh and to the team.

Names mentioned:

Josh McDaniels
Tommy Rees
Josh McCown
Wes Welker
Shane Bowen
Ryan Cowden
Mike Borgonzi
Wes Welker should definitely take the WR coaching job. Is it possible to look bad compared to the WR coaches we hired the last few years? Wes will look like genius.

I mean they’d be qualified for that role so he shouldn’t get mad but he would anyway

Breer acts like the Pats were the first team ever to exploit that rule. Teams have been doing it for years. The Krafts were brilliant in getting the best coach available.
