The only problem i see here is that its no longer a given that Pittsburgh reups wilson for 30m+ yearly like it was a month ago
They could possibly rinse and report with Kirk and get him for vet min due to offset cash.

Interesting quotes on Herbert, FYI first QB in history to throw more picks in a playoff game than they threw all season.
-Drake Maye was 37.4% pressure rate for the SEASON, 39% for 1 game and Herbert throws 4 picks.
-Chargers invested heavily on the line and had great pass protection numbers all year (remember the 5 seconds to throw against Pats). Playoffs are a different beast, you need a mobile QB as you will face at least 1 defense in the playoffs that will get pressure on the QB.

Coach Jim Harbaugh was quick to defend Herbert postgame, saying his QB played "like he always does -- a complete beast." Harbaugh added that the offensive line didn't protect Herbert well enough and that the Texans' edge pressure was the best his team had seen this season. Herbert was sacked four times and pressured on 39% of his dropbacks.

"He's got to be able to finish a throwing motion," Harbaugh said. "Quarterback's got to be able to do that, and we didn't put him in the position to do that enough."

Alarming that Wilson tossed those 2 TD passes vs the Ravens D.

Jackson always finds a way to implode.
He didn’t last night

Perhaps, or they might give fields another shot on a prove it deal if nobody offers him starter cash.

Im kinda regretting their epic collapse now because a month ago they were about guaranteed to give russ a huge deal based on that fools gold run they were having.

He won't need to do it. Derrick Henry will. Don't forget they won without flowers yesterday. What happened to the vanuted Pittsburgh D?

I think your right SBB.. we can get a tackle in the 2nd round. If Carter is there at 4 then absolutely we take him. FA Will also tell us alot on how the draft is approached. I also would like T. McMillan to pair with DK on the outside.
Everyday I can come up with a different plan. In the draft for now I've narrowed to 3 players I want. 4 if we count Hunter too but I think he goes top 3.
McMillan
Carter
Will Johnson

I was looking a little at free agent lists last night and there seems to be a decent number of corners and edge rushers. So for this morning I'm back on Tet. We have so many problems this changes with the wind.

As weird as it seems on the surface, Maye's senior year behind a bad OL helped prepare him for the realities of the NFL. I am surprised that people are using last years W/L record as proof that Maye is not worth the hype.

Tomlin reminds me of Marvin Lewis. A guy who could win in the regular season, but just cannot win in the playoffs. But their team refuses to give up on him.

In fairness to Tomlin, he hasn't had a top QB in almost a decade (Roethlisberger a shell of himself by the time he retired). But considering he makes the playoffs every year, he should have lucked into a win at least once if he was any good in the playoffs.

I can't believe there were people actually discussing the possibility of trading for Tomlin for the Patriots.

Meh, Fields isn’t good

Whenever I see Ladd McConkey make a catch, it just reminds me of who the Patriots could have had, as opposed to who the Patriots did get.

Ladd McConkey
82 receptions, 1149 yards, 7 TD, 14.0 yards per catch, 52 first downs

versus

Ja'Lynn Polk
12 receptions, 87 yards, 2 TD, 7.3 yards per catch, 4 first downs
plus
Javon Baker
one reception, 12 yards, 0 TD, 12 yards per catch, 1 first down
Makes me cry every time.

That said how bad was Justin Herbert yesterday? Almost had me thinking he might have been invested in losing. How can he go from leading the NFL with fewest INTs to that? These were all on him so it's not
excusable.

"Herbert's four interceptions made him the first player in NFL history to throw more interceptions in a playoff game than in the regular season. He finished the regular season with three interceptions, leading to a league-best 0.6 INT percentage."

I'm with you. Our draft expert lol and fellow great poster PatsFan2 has me sold on T McMillan.. as you have as well. As you perfectly stated we have so many needs or it feels like we have so many.. I'll also add.. uncovering all the dysfunction last season between the front off and coaching staff.. are these players really as bad? Or was it more of the problems last season? What's your thinking??

Meh, Fields isn’t good

Agreed, which is why its back to the russ strategy now with fields. hope he does just well enough next year , 9-10 wins, for them to commit an expensive deal to justin.

If Pitt offers us the moon for Milton do you take it?

Getting Russ back on a reasonable deal or Kirk wouldn’t be bad.

They need to draft a QB though

What is the “moon” lol? He was a 6th round pick. Nobody is going to go nuts off one game vs third stringers.

I think what we are seeing from Herbert is who he is a good QB not a great QB.. I believe drakes ceiling is higher than Herbert.

Depends what the moon is. I think milton has good value to us as a backup on a rookie contract and gadget player if the new staff has the smarts to utilize him

We don't know that.. lol.. I'm talking about a 3rd rounder and a 5th some like that. QBs like Milton the allure is the potential not so much what he's done as he's a back up. Unless someone offers something I think we should hold on to him and continue to develop. Drake his playing style comes with the reality of getting hurt.

Russ would be expensive i think. Cousins will be russ v2. He’ll do some good for them at a bargain and theyll be ousted rd 1 again. That team needs a hard reset but its hard to see them actually going through with it, they seem to be happy with the non losing thing
