Pervasive black failure? Yikes.

Maybe people tend to hang with and hire those more similar to themselves? That’s not to say they are some inherent evil for doing a pretty natural human thing, but still doesn’t erase the fact that the behavior exists, and we are an intelligent enough species to recognize it. I agree the Rooney rule and its execution doesn’t work, but the idea of turning off default tunnel vision and broadening potential hiring pools is still a desirable goal.
Obviously: "pervasive failure." Woke types often struggle with logic, and this is an example. They cite such failure as the rationale for the various policies intended to "fight racism," then when anyone else points out the obvious history of failure, they want to deny that there any such record. What intellectually dishonest horseshit. If blacks are doing so well, there is obviously no need for all your handouts and special advantages, right? Your view is predicated on an assumption that blacks are as children, crippled by history, unable to bear responsibility for their failures nor to play a central role in their redemption. You keep them as political pets. What insulting nonsense. If I were black, certainly a successful black, I would resent the insult, which sounds like racism to me.

Any outrage at NE for conforming to the Rooney Rule by conducting 2 sham interviews is just faux outrage.
Agreed.

And, sure, these interviews are sham in the sense that the team wants to sign either Vrabel or Johnson.

SO, WHY ARE FOLKS WHINING?

Two black potential OC's interviewed for a HC job. They are out of the league and got national visibility. Perhaps some team will now be more likely to consider them for a job as OC or passing coordinator, or even QB coach.

I can't speak for the folks who are whining but it seems that some of them think it was too much of a sham, which is weaksauce criticism. That was what begged my response: "What were the Patriots supposed to do? Interview them harder?"

Not a political forum, but I should’ve known where it would go with someone making the kinds of statements you’re spewing, so I have only myself to blame. So many “blacks” generalizations, I’ll just shrug, leave it at that, self-moderate and let people get back to football.

Unfortunately the NFL has injected politics onto the field with messaging, DEI, lgbtq promotion and had players put criminals names on their uniforms and helmets. Coaches and players have been kneeling for the flag and national anthem. And the NFL forces organizations to interview based on politics. The NFL has become very political, they want a political message sent out, so it can't be avoided when it interferes with who teams are forced to interview and encouraged to hire.

People complain about this stuff but don't get upset that the NFL's biggest political partnership is a huge deal they have with the military.

They are generalization on the basis of data, data -as I have explained -which liberals use to justify "helping blacks." If there is no pattern of failure, then fine: there is no need for measures to address what you acknowledge to be a non-existent problem. The logic here is incontrovertible. If you do not want to continue the political discussion, do not respond. It's up to you. If you choose to take me on in argument, you will lose. I guarantee it, so why bother?

Hmmm, the first two interviewed may not have been just for the Rooney rule. There is a clear Vrabel and Brady influences behind it.
