Tet McMillan is the wild card in all of this.

If our front office likes him a lot, and thinks he's the real deal, and if people are thinking others don't have him rated as highly, I'd look at a possible trade down if he could be grabbed at 6 or 7.'

But that assumes some other team has a guy they need to jump up to pick at 4.

That can only be a QB.

I would think CB, DT, OT, WR, DE are all on the board for the Patriots. Travis Hunter, Tet McMillan, Kelvin Banks, Will Campbell, Will Johnson, Mason Graham are all possible picks for the Patriots.

I do not believe Hunter will be available at #4. It will be interesting what Vikings do with Darnold - because if they pass on him one of the teams ahead of us can grab him. I can see scenario Giants do that and pair Hunter with Nabers.
Ward,Sanders are probably gone and what QB might be worth picking with #3?

The ONLY way they should go WR in the first round is if they've signed either Robinson, Staley or Jackson. Otherwise, they HAVE to add a OT. To be honest,. I wouldn't draft a WR then because of the need at DT and DE. Even CB is a bigger need than WR, imo.
Not getting Drake Maye weapons = 5 win season next year at best.

I like the Trade down talk if can get this guy I think he will test very well. OT Aireontay Ersery 6-6 325 Minnesota.

I like Ersery as well, but I would trade down to 8-10 area and take Tyler Warren and add a second round pick, then take one of their second and one of their third round picks and use them to move back into the first round for Ersery or Simmons.

The question on MacMillen is going to be whether he can get separation at the pro level. He checks every other box.

He sucks I'm sorry they might as well Trade for Joe Milton: Milroe's College end was pathetic if you ask me. He's far from Lamar Jackson if you ask me it's not even close.

This makes him a great candidate for the Jets or Raiders.

More and more often in mock draft simulators I can see Milroe taken #3 by Giants. It cannot believe it.

The come up with some wild ****. I frequently see the guys using the simulator coming up with 3 and 4 first round candidates in their fourth and fifth rounds.

Ivan: you're mean I wouldn't wish him on our worst enemy.

And that is the point. On the tape I cannot see he can do it. Honestly I dream about speedy WR who can get separation.

You are right, draft simulators are fun but sometimes people get carried away. Like I said before I cannot see 3 QBs taken in first picks.

This is why it helps to look at the Consensus Mock Drafts in which 500+ mocks are tallied.

I've been looking at this for years, and it is why I wasn't surprised we took N'Keal Harry. In fact, we took him earlier than most draftniks thought he'd go:

I have the same concerns about separation by McMillen but if he is in fact 6’5” he is an almost automatic mismatch unless bracketed in coverage. He would immediately be the Pats best WR even with the separation issues, unless they acquired Higgins or perhaps Cooper. The Pate currently have no one like him on their roster. I think that translates to him drawing coverage and opening things up for their other receivers.

If Hunter is off the board and assuming for this discussion that neither a suitable trade is offered nor Campbell or Banks are worthy of #4 overall, then even if McMillen is Drake London 2.0 I personally like him at least as much there as I like Carter (size concerns) or Johnson (CB vs WR or DL) and as much as I like Graham.

Here are the Drake London numbers. He doesn’t get a lot of publicity but the guy is a really good player in the NFL and has been since he arrived in spite of not being the greatest separator in the league.

Drake London NFL stats

I am already committed to being thrilled with any of the options mentioned in this paragraph, they all will greatly improve the Pats roster.

He is 6'5, has ungodly huge hands, and he is incredibly athletic. How much separation does he need?

One expert recently compared McMillan to London, but added McMillan is a taller, more athletic version of Drake London. I'll take that all day.

I'm imagining four Patriots fans showing up in the stadium with the letters P - A - T - E and the team then forever being referred to as The Pate on other teams' boards.

Look at the worst teams and what do they all have in common? ****ty O-line. Add to that you had ****ty coaching, they are lucky they won any games this year. Fix the line first, give Maye time to work. Bring in a real coach to find out why the hell our existing receivers suck. Then maybe you can sign a WR or draft one.

They did take Daniel Jones at 6th overall in 2019 and no one saw that coming.

Milum and Ersery are my two I’m targeting in late first early 2nd. lthough I do see them already moving up the draft boards. Saw Milum at 13th yesterday. Was hoping he was going to remain anonymous for a while longer.

I love Simmons but we definitely need to see some medicals from this guy. Obviously he was having a great season before the knee injury. Right now, kind of looking for expected return date and prognosis. Also see him anywhere from 13-120 lol. Think it will be more like 17-25 myself.
