He was still better than Tyler Hughes, LOL

The last WR coach they have had that I am guessing was passable is probably... Mick Lombardi? Joe Judge?
Honestly I’d argue it was Chad O’shea

Yeah you and @captain stone are right on this one, he was the last good one. I was trying to say who was the last one that wasn’t total ass and was able to develop someone some way. Meyers developed under Judge and Lombardi in 2019/2020. It’s something.

I read a tweet that linked the comment about losing faith in the spring to Hunter Henry because he’s used the “look in the mirror” line a couple times during interviews. He would also have a good frame of reference, since he played under Anthony Lynn for a few years in San Diego who had an up-and-down tenure (a 9-7 year, a 12-4 year and then a couple slightly below .500 years) and then came here and played under Bill Belichick for 3 years. Been around long enough to know this staff didn’t know wtf they were doing.
Hunter is a decent TE, REGARDLESS of what ******s say.
Some of the Deficients want ALL PROS at every position.
That doesn't happen... And if it does, they have zero Depth.

Bill made sure the middle class made a decent salary, because they would be needed, and DECENT PLAYERS.
Fkn assholes have no clue.

Your post would be a lot more well received if you weren’t throwing “******s” and “assholes” around for no apparent reason. Who hurt you?

Belichick himself said today on Jim Greys podcast that things changed his last 4 years or so here. I don't think that specifically means Wolf or Groh but he was definitely saying things were different.

Wonder what that 'something' could have been...

If you're Giardi and you're writing this piece, there's a 100% chance you reached out to Okorafor and Osborne. They would have no reservations about telling it like it is.

We're also forgetting Judon. Don't look at the current roster, look at the guys who got jettisoned if you're digging for dirt.

I never asked for your permission Ross, I see you doing crap all the time.
I'm actually shocked at some of the crap you put out there as a Mod.
Have Fun Bruh.

I'm not deleting anything, I don't need to do it, Ross got mad.
Whatever Ashley.

What? Who are you Ross, I see you saying dumb **** EVERY DAY.
Big deal, you're a Mod... woo hoo.
I was going to change/ delete because I thought I did something wrong...then I came back and laughed...yeah, sure bruh.

I think you’ll find that coaches are pretty smart when you have very talented players. They’re pretty dumb when players are less than great.

What does Belichick’s draft record have to do with this article about Jerod Mayo flaming out

How do you think the cupboard got so bare? That’s the 2022 draft, and it was complete and utter dogshit. There’s a reason their roster sucks so bad, and it isn’t Eliot Wolf. If it still sucks 2 years from now then Wolf will be responsible, but the team he inherited was dogshit.

He clearly doesn't feel like he was getting the same support from above and I don't think he meant only personnel guys.
Isn’t that when Casserio left? Might explain why Bill blocked the move earlier. Maybe he didn’t like the guys coming up behind him as much.

I do not like the part of the article that emphasizes lack of player development simply because it puts all the onus on the coaches. We've seen this before. Remember when Troy Brown was critiqued for NKeal Harry and Tyquan Thornton's inabilities? I'm not saying Troy is great, but with Polk, his display this year was not unexpected by many.
Yes. Polk was a bad pick by a young, inexperienced pseudo-GM. He never had a chance to be a successful pro player. But in Wolf's defense, now we've learned through Breer that the organization has not been on par with other NFL teams, in terms of scouting and analytics (and other things). That takes some of the blame from Wolf and puts it right on Kraft's shoulders.

It really makes you wonder what Wolf's role is. Isn't it the GM's job to build up the organization and make sure it's competitive as a whole? Is that Wolf's responsibility? If not him, who? And if that person failed to keep his ear to the ground to make sure the Patriots stayed competitive, shouldn't he be terminated? It seems ridiculous to go into the draft with subpar scouting capabilities and analysis. Breer's characterization of the situation made it seem egregious.

All said, it seems like we're doing half-measures again with the Kraft's running point on finding a new coach. They are going to pick him and go forward with a weak GM whose scope of responsibilities is far more restricted than typical. They are going to decide if scouting and analytics is up to par. What is needed is for someone to build a modern NFL organization, but it looks like we're getting ownership as GM.

What a shock.

Sounds like HC Mayo was never DC or OC or anything on his own and was learning while on year 1 of the Pats job.

Never asked you to delete anything, just offering a criticism. I never even said anything about my position. I was just speaking to you as a fellow poster. Not sure why you are flying off the handle.

I'm someone who subscribes to the opposite of this.

We've seen too many coaching turnarounds with the same players.

Ty Law, Tedy Bruschi, Willie McGinest, Kevin Faulk, Troy Brown, Lawyer Milloy, Ted Johnson, Damien Woody, etc. were all a part of a Patriots team that got worse every single year, all a part of a team collectively labeled the worst talent in the NFL.

Yet they experienced a coaching turnaround from Pete Carroll who was getting worse and worse every year.

I do agree with your general point that you need some talent, especially at the QB position. But I believe a coach and a QB are worth 4 wins each in this league.

You can have a lot of talent and a bad coach and end up like the Cowboys.
You can have a lot of talent and a bad QB and end up like the Jaguars.
If you have bad coaching and a bad QB, well...
