“Two sources inside the room said Kraft admitted he had rushed to hire Mayo,” the Boston Herald wrote. “Kraft intimated he had set Mayo up to fail, and by extension his players and the franchise. Kraft also promised to learn from his mistake in the coming days, when he would search for his third head coach in as many years and begin again.”

Good on him to take responsibility for setting the players up to fail. I think that was the right message to send and the right way to do it.

One of the most important things any leader in an organization can do is take unambiguous ownership of a failure.
I may have questioned Kraft throughout the fail but I applaud him for swiftly recognizing it and publicly owning it.

If he thinks he can just say stuff like that and get a bunch of goodwill from it then... it's working, at least on me. The Kraft I've seen this week is the best Kraft I've seen since Myra passed.

Good for Kraft. Now take the cards and dominoes away from the locker room and have the players on tablets looking at film as much as the coaches. We need lockerroom leaders like the dynasty days starting with Drake Maye and whoever steps up along with him like Willie and Bruschi and other greats led in the past. Vrabel will bring some of that spirit of greatness back to the Patriots.

Good for Kraft. A true leader will stand up in front of his people and not be afraid to admit he was wrong. I'm sure the players respected him for being honest with them. I say well done Mr Kraft.
