And Judon trade was a killer trade ... Need to give him credit for that and getting something for uche.Hooper. Gibson. Slye is better than Ryland.

This is about Wolf in general not the first round. He failed in every area improving this team besides QB
He had free agency as well. He also passed on Ladd for Polk. Even if you want to say "oh after the first round we don't see many contributors" he literally passed on one for the worst WR picked in this draft class. In other words you know that it’s a reality in the NFL that the vast majority of kids picked after the 1st round don’t contribute significantly their rookie year, if ever, but since reality doesn’t fit your narrative you are just going to apply completely unrealistic standards to Wolf.

They had the same record. A banged up defense did worse without the GOAT defensive coach leading the way. That's not shocking. You aren't getting Bill Belichick back ever so the idea that a mediocre defense is going to play above it's paygrade in that way is silly. They actually got worse, which imo points to the coaching staff, and not the GM.

Spare me the "oh he has unrealistic expectations". He hit on the one guy where everyone and their mother knew we were going to pick him.
In yet the Commanders somehow brought in a ton of talent and are now i the playoffs.Your unreasonable expectations are just that. Unreasonable expectations. And last year’s free agent market absolutely sucked, which is why so many of them ended up overpaid. Wolf was right not to spend heavily in it, and now he has 235 million free to use in a better market, and with no significant names of their own to re-sign Good approach imo. I’ll wait and see how he handles this coming offseason, and how they do with a better coach and coaching staff. And if he fails I’ll be more than happy to own my position on him, but the 6-8 months you and others gave him before calling for his head was ridiculous.
BB wanted to oust Corky Jones and Kraft told him no. Kraft told BB trade Jimmy because Brady went to Kraft and complained about him. Trading Jimmy was the beginning of the end of BB in NE.Bill always had final say. He allowed more input in later years, but it was always his call.
And Wolf was a consultant for most of his time with New England.

BB did not have final say and thats why he wanted to be fired so Kraft would have to pay him in full.

But Bill was in charge on how the scouting department was set up. He didn't believe in analytics. He thought it was garbage. So there was no analytic department. He didn't believe in sport science either. The Patriots' scouting department is one of the smallest staffs in the NFL if not the smallest. So Wolf was always working with the tools he was given which was not much.
Now he may agree with Belichick that having a robust scouting department and using advanced tools like analytics are useless. But maybe he is for much of what most of the best tools that the top teams have are necessary and haven't been given them - yet.
I mean if you are asked to drive a car blindfolded and only allowed to use your other senses to drive the car, I am guessing you will crash the car.
Don't pin that on Wolf. That was 100% BB's stubbornness and vendetta against Mac.Analystics is what brought us JuJu instead of Jakobi
I'll go by Callahan's article since it makes complete 100% sense. Jakobi had everything the Patriots old system prized, moved the chains, kept the offense on schedule. The new metrics guys touted his YAC over Jakobis. It's funny that a lot of threads by posters on this board argued the same as metrics in making the comparison, but only Callahan wrote an extensive article showing that Belichick was in Jakobi's corner and had to be convinced to go with the metrics (i.e. JuJu).Don't pin that on Wolf. That was 100% BB's stubbornness and vendetta against Mac.
I'd love to bring Jakobi back this offseason. He's held down a terrible team, with a terrible QB - as a WR1.
Not according to their kicking stats. Ryland is more accurate, younger, and has a stronger leg. Check the stats. Another complete botched decision by Wolf and Mayo to keep Slye.Slye is better than Ryland.
You forgot Sow, Boutte, and Ryland. Also Ryland out kicked Slye for the year with more accuracy and a stronger leg. Keeping Slye instead of Ryland was a huge management mistake.Wolf led the '23 draft process, and it was actually a great success based on probability -
Draft - Gonzo, White, Mapu, Boutte, Baringer, Douglas, Bolden - 7 of 12 that played major roles on this years team.
The last 4 or 5 years of the BB era is now our standard. If you were better than BB from 2019/2020 to 2023 than you are good? SMH.FA was far better than recent BB years.
Ryland's career FG% is 77Not according to their kicking stats. Ryland is more accurate, younger, and has a stronger leg. Check the stats. Another complete botched decision by Wolf and Mayo to keep Slye.
