While i understand that sentiment i'm not sure we can go with another rookie.

I would also prefer an Offensive coach but i think this team needs experience, structure, discipline and no mixed messaging.

Johnson is touted as the next big thing and maybe he is but the chance of him failing would also have to be reasonably high imo.

I'm not totally against it but i does come with a lot of risk.

But at least we know Ben Johnson climbed the ladder and not boot licked his way up.

I cannot believe this just happened, nor as fast as it has. Like….damn. They canned his ass so quick. What’s the timing mean? I didn’t think Kraft had the balls. Wow.

I have a feeling they told him to lose and he went ahead and won anyways. That’s why he was so cheerful (unlike Any other game this year) throughout the game. And hence why the Krafts looked so pissed and miserable in their box throughout the game, and at the end of the day why they did the unprecedented and fired him right after the game and not tomorrow.

I hope he has a hard time getting a HS coaching gig. Something he might have the qualifications for, but im not even sure of that.

They had every reason to fire him last week. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to know he was gonna do everything he could to win this game to feed nothing more than his own big ego and sail off giving the organization the middle finger. If any Patriots fans still have a mayo jersey, they should burn it tonight.

Holy cow, that was fast. In fact, the decision had to have been made earlier. Mayo knew.

What his ego prevented him from realizing was that by doing what he did today will essentially blackball him from ever getting a big time coaching gig ever again. Owners talk, and he just ****ed himself. He can now go back to being an executive.

They would not be stupid enough to tell him to lose on purpose and then fire him. Pats would know Mayo woukd rat them out to Goodell and they would lose draft picks and be fined

Why would Johnson want to come to NE ? I know Drake is promising, but the Krafts are weirdos, the stadium is getting older, the cupboard is bare, and the GM makes poor decisions.

Maye looks like the guy. The team isn't up for sale or having a bunch of dumb kids fighting over ownership. Coaches don't care about the stadium only the facilities and they're already upgrading those. The roster sucks but they have cap space and some draft capital and any candidate worth anything should be able to replace Wolf with his own guy.

In this case absolutely. He referenced JJ being 1-15 in his first season to go on and win 2 super bowls. The Cowboys had the pieces in place to do so, these Patriots clearly do not. JJ earned his stripes in college, Mayo had zero experience as the head honcho. Apples to oranges
