Closing speed is very impressiveLove him in the late rounds
Would be very happy with him in round two.Does anyone have thoughts on Jihaad Campbell from Alabama?
Look at this for consistent production from PFF:
Run Defence - 81
Coverage - 78.7
Pass Rush - 75.5
Ranks 1st among all linebackers for coverage stops
And at 6-3, 244lbs, a really good size.

That's how I see him. When I do my mocks he often turns up at 38 and I pick just because I think he's BPA.My dream scenario would be to trade down twice, move around a bit and end up with two picks in the 20’s to take an OT and Jihaad Campbell. He is my favourite player in the draft.
To me he is the clear #1 off the ball linebacker. He is big, freakishly athletic and is fantastic against the run and in coverage. What puts it over the top for me though as the guy I want in the 1st round is the flashes of ability he has also shown off the edge. I have no doubt he will be a stud LBer, but if he can also do a bit of an Abdul Carter/Micah Parsons off the edge, that is an immensely valuable player.
Have him play inside on early downs where he can either play the run or drop into coverage when needed. Then on passing downs just let him loose from the edge. This is a guy that would make me very excited.

Projecting LBs for us has always been the hardest thing it seems. They've become more and more undersized and there's also the factor of having to be the onfield vocal leader. That really widles it down to a select few that make a good fit.I was just thinking about this scenario earlier today. I'm with you, although I'm hoping we get a FA LT and can draft DL instead. I miss when we had a dominant LB corp. Campbell would improve the middle of our defense big time. Imagine adding, say, Campbell, Harmon, and Porter? Night and day difference potential.
Vrabel used smaller linebackers at Tennessee to fit his one gap system. It wouldn't surprise me to see him go in that direction here.Projecting LBs for us has always been the hardest thing it seems. I don't recall seeing him during the practices but I did find this nice one just now.Just want to bring this to the fore again. If you haven't watched the highlight tape up thread, please do so. Regardless of how he fits the team or anything else, Nick Martin has the prospect I've most enjoyed watching. He flies around as though he has been fired out of a gun whilst his hair is on fire.
