We have the #1 which we will trade down for a bonanza.
My prediction isn't quite a bonanza, but something similar to one of the following (I'll use the Giants as an example; it'd be similar for any of the top 8 teams):

* NE gets: 1.4, 2.36 + 2026 NYG 2
* NYG gets: 1.1

* NE gets: 1.4, 2.36 + 2026 NYG 1
* NYG gets: 1.1, 2026 NE 2

That’s WAY less than past trades.

Get that Man's metaphorical ass in for an interview (and bring Ray Agnew with him)
I read that Jonson wants to work with the Washington assistant GM. He was a personnel guy in Detroit. I cant seem to find the source. It may have been a tweet or speculation from someone.

Do you think we have something he may be interested in?
I’m not sure this is a project he wants to take on…..many other teams are in better “shape” and closer to bringing back to playoffs than us ….but he is an offensive mastermind and we do have Drake so….its a possibility….Thunder has to do right think and fire Mayo and staff 1/6 ….no downside….Mayo has already lost most of team

Even if he has the most long term potential this team needs an experienced coach. The only way this would work is if Johnson can bring along a Spagnuolo type DC.

I’d wouldn’t mind Robert Saleh as DC, but him being Muslim and of Lebanese decent, I just don’t see him being able to make the tea trip to Israel with bob to get the deal done

It's also a weak draft class, with a lot of question marks on the top players.

There were a lot of question marks for Bryce young and Trey lance and they still brought in dump truck hauls. So no I would never settle for two second round picks to move back 3 spots. Especially in this draft

Didn't know he is a UNC alum backing up TJ Yates as a walkon, with math and comp sci degrees.

It’s not about the strength of the class it’s about teams needing QBs and thinking their guy is there which some teams will think about sanders.
Arguably if the draft is weak it makes number 1 even more valuable to a team that wants that guy.

We should have a gm oprning.

Though we want it, doubt he comes here.
Bears or jaguars might be first preference. Though we have maye , state of roster leaves much to be desired and Lawrence or Caleb so have talent and could end similar to Goff or even better .

Jaguars - patient ownership + Lawrence + Brian Thomas Jr + Etienne+ decent talent on defense . Very limited work to do and decent draft picks too.

Vrabel might be the best choice for us.

Why not? What better opportunity could he have?
I don’t know what opportunities are better yet, but we should know that by Tuesday morning.

I mean which could be?

We have the QB.
We have more cap and draft assets than any team has ever had.
We are coming off 4 win and 3 win seasons so immediate expectations aren’t crazy giving him time to develop those assets
We face a schedule with 7 games against teams that won 5 games or less, so the opportunity to show improvement in year 1 is vast.

You said unequivocally he isn’t coming here, so I assumed you had a better reason that c you next Tuesday.

You would choose Williams or Lawrence over Maye?

The rosters are pretty similar, look at the results.
We have a sick amount of draft capital and cap space.

Jacksonville is a mess and they have been for a long time. They are run like the Jets

The Pats have a unique opportunity. It is a highly desirable team for a new head coach. He has a QB, cap space, money to spend and he could probably name his preferred GM. I believe Kraft should move swiftly, firing everybody and setting up interviews as soon as possible. Or they can keep Jerod Mayo because he is like family and remain in the doldrums.

Johnson isn’t coming here. Not sure we want another first time HC anyway.
CORRECT! We cannot fall for the "hot new fad" again.
We need an experienced HC, who has systems in place and (most importantly) high-value asst. coaches attached.
1. Vrabel would be fine - could have a "2nd chance" leap like BB did after Browns. Great leader, motivator.
2. I'd even take Gruden - he has the most to prove, and could probably hype this team (and Maye) to 10 wins next year.
3. dark horse in Arthur Smith - a UNC guy, broad experience (coached Def, OL, TE; 3 yrs OC & 3 yrs HC exp)

We need. Offensive mastermind to stay with Maye.
That’s either Vrabel with a promise from Josh Mcd he’s not leaving.
Or Johnson or Brady or Moore, maybe Kingsbury as a dark horse?

I don’t think he will want to come here and I don’t think the krafts will hire another 1st time HC.
