If the Bills beat the Pats tomorrow we will end up with the first pick. We will also have $ 130,000 to spend. Along with a very good quarterback. Even if we win we will pick no later than 4th. Ben Johnson and the Lions finish tomorrow as well. With these assets might he be willing to accept a chance to have an early interview? Yeah I know........pipe dreams Thoughts

There are specific rules. There is a window that differs whether they have the bye or not to do a virtual interview.
You cannot in person interview until 1/20 or there season is over whichever comes last, if I remember correctly.

Do you think we have something he may be interested in?

If I were Johnson, I’d hold off until the season is over as it’s a major distraction to players.

Imagine had Parcells held off until after the 1996 season.

My belief is Johnson might come here if a member of the current DET FO (Ray Agnew ) runs the org
There’s definitely an opportunity to rebuild things in the image of how Detroit has it set up, front office and coaching.

It can be argued that Detroit’s success is mostly owed to Johnson and not really Campbell.

I'm all in on the thought of including Agnew. What a nice parlay they would make..... terrific point....

That really doesn't seem like all that much. Krafty Bob probably keeps $130k handy for incidentals on his local strip mall excursions
(I know it's a typo but I chuckled when I saw it)

Get that Man's metaphorical ass in for an interview (and bring Ray Agnew with him).

Johnson isn’t coming here. Not sure we want another first time HC anyway.
Even if he has the most long term potential this team needs an experienced coach. The only way this would work is if Johnson can bring along a Spagnuolo type DC.

From Dianna Russini:

The Patriots’ head-coaching job isn’t officially open, but it’s definitely on the radar for people around the league. I’d go as far as to say it’s the job a lot of coaching candidates are eyeing. Why? Drake Maye.

If you’re trying to predict where the top coaching candidates will land, look no further than the teams with quarterbacks who have the potential to win big. Those organizations are always the most appealing. I asked three general managers where they thought Maye would land if he were in this upcoming draft; all three said No. 1 overall. . . .

In a league where success largely hinges on getting the quarterback right, the Patriots seem to have their guy, and it’s clear that many coaches would love the chance to work with him.

I think, as long as wolf goes too, we are by far the best situation for a HC. Assuming Kraft will spend for players.

We have the QB.
We have the #1 which we will trade down for a bonanza.
We have 130,000,000 and almost no one to resign.
We have the most resources to improve with that any NFL team has ever had in an off season.

And we have 8 games next year against bad teams who have won 5 or fewer games.

Why not? What better opportunity could he have?

Make it a trifecta and bring Terrell Williams too
