The story earlier about Vrabel’s experience with the Browns was interesting. There was a lot in there about how he helped the personnel department and even helped them draft guys… I’d be curious to see what that would look like in a Patriots position. Since Kraft is so against “one guy having all the power”, Vrabel can’t be the HC/GM combo, but could he get a big say in the draft/free agency? Could he select his own GM if Wolf was fired?

I could see a scenario where Wolf is retained for now but Vrabel gets big involvement in the draft process.

May

Mayos conditions to accept head coach

I want to make sure I get paid no matter what
I don’t want to work too hard
We have to hire my family and friends
Someone needs to really do the coaching stuff cause I don’t know much about it.
And if that doesn’t work
Walk it all back

I think Vrabel would be a way better fit with the Jets than he would be here. A team with lots of talent that should be a lot better than they are. They’re a coach away and Vrabel has a good track record with loaded teams.

Pats are a lot more than a coach away from being good.
Belichick would have had them good this year.

We had better
Like who? I assume you can’t be talking about the septuagenarian that put giving a job to his buddies Patricia and Judge over the welfare of his team and young QB.

Hater lol

Yes I’m a hater of nepotism over merit. The results speak for itself and now he’s out of the league.
Finally an admission of guilt

Who chose nepotism over merit?

I think you meant cronyism. Sure Bill employed his son's but by all merit his son was really really friggen good on defense side of things.

But hiring his buddies because their contract was already fulfilled by other teams certainly set this franchise back. He would argue that that was a mandate of the Krafts though.

THIS is why you want Vrabel… guy is a fox with the rule book just like Bill… Can you even imagine Mayo even beginning to explain this, let alone thinking of it in the first place? He’s probably never even seen a rule book.

Vrabel changed his twitter avatar apparently to him and Bruschi celebrating in the old pats unis. Something brewing or trolling?

Are you complaining about Josh or just one specific re-hire?

It's more like, are you defending hiring of Judge and Patricia?

What about Troy Brown?
I defend the hires on the philosophy of hiring guys you trust not everything works out the way you want but they worked more than they didn't.

Don't forget where a lot of his staff came from in 2000.
