“We’ll always have a good run defense. I truly believe that,” Mayo said. “And when I talk to (the media), I’m talking to the players. They listen to this stuff. Like earlier what I said was, on Instagram or whatever it is — they listen to it. So here you go, (players): we’ll always be a good run defense. No matter what.”

With one game left, the Patriots’ run defense ranks 25th in yards allowed per game, 28th by DVOA and 30th by EPA per play.

I know there are far more telling quotes than my personal fave. Maybe it's my well known appreciation of popcorn or perhaps it's my love of idiotic levels of chutzpah followed by literally nothing in the way of backing it up, Whatever the reason this beauty, from Baker really sums up the 2024 Pats WR's (ahem) 'performance' for me:

“Just come to the home stadium and bring y’all popcorn. That’s all I can tell y’all. Bring your popcorn. I make people in wheelchairs stand up.”

His stat line for the 10 games he's played? 3 targets, ZERO catches.
Even the popcorn is laughing

This needs a song?

I mean I guess you really meant it when he said that when he talked to the media he was talking to the players.

That's why he walks everything back and has no accountability

Yes he quite literally said so. He said he talks to them via the media. Which is weird since he could just.. like…. talk to them. You know, privately.

Then he says **** he shouldn’t, but can’t say it was a mistake because he already told us that he is very deliberate with what he says in the media because he is sending messages to players so he could never have misspoken right? Except the times he did, and then did again, and again…

If he actually led meetings at Optum(?), can you imagine how they were? Maybe he went to the HR lady and told her how he felt and that he was talking to the rest of the co. through her…jfc.
