Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

Where the **** is our owner?

This guy has crawled into the dunes and disappeared.

After all that **** he said about Bill Belichick he can't come out here and comment on the season that's unfolding right now?

So don’t fire bad hires for better hires unless they’re sure to be the greatest hires?
I’d rather deal with a coaching issue for one more year than 3-4 more years. And I think that will happen

Who gets the shorter leash, a HC or a QB? Mac Jones got three years and then he was shipped out. Does Mayo get three years?

I worry about WHO they'd bring in as well, Mayo/Cov etc...just don't seem to get it, AT ALL though.
Same stupid penalties from the same guys, same dumb excuses, same bus driving/walk backs, same lack of adjustments.

Just a really sucky situation, I don't know HOW there aren't some changes coming.

Dream scenario (No, it’s not going to happen) is hiring local boy Eric DeCosta, the Taunton native, away from the Ravens as the new GM of the Patriots.

Wanting someone who is historically incompetent removed from a position is being honest and fair and demanding justice. There is nothing spoiled or impatient about it.
"Historically," is an interesting way to describe a single season. That's what I mean by spoiled and impatient.

All the fans are booing Mayo and wanting him gone.... why would he intentionally lose this game? All the spoiled, impatient fans will be the ones to blame if we win this last game.
I understand what you're saying, but him winning the last game of the season isn't going to do anything for him or the team. He's had all season to try to win games, but starting now is just an ******* move. The #1 overall pick is at stake which could do all lot for 2025.

In terms of being impatient, Bob fired the most winningest HC in NFL history because he was unhappy with the results. This is what we got in return.

They're going to count firing AVP as major coaching changes.
AVP is the only coach that the players gave public kudos to, unless you count the Mayo lip service because a player is crazy to bad mouth the HC he may still need to work for.

Anyone heard players praising Covington, or the WR coach?

It would by really discouraging to have AVP fired and all the other coaches kept, when it should be the opposite.

As much as I wasn't a fan of Patricia and O'Brien, they didn't have much to work with. This would make it the 3rd OC fired in 3 consecutive years.

Like Mayo, Covington took a job he shouldn't have. It's a terrible look to fire anyone other than Mayo when he has been so bad himself.

I feel like Mayo told Covington that Covington had the makeup to be a great DC because Mayo told himself he was a great DC and Covington shared all of his qualities.

I agree with this and having Vrabel say he'd be interested in the job washes away any taint of firing Mayo after a year and scaring away quality coaches.

That said, I still think we would have been hearing more if Kraft was thinking of making a move.
I agree to some degree
I think Kraft really likes Mayo personally.
He knows he is struggling with the media and pressers
Putting pressure through the media on Mayo would intensify Mayo’s demise
Even if he is going to move on from Mayo I think he will do it tactfully

I think Krafty will keep him on, and tell him some things need to change.

AVP is leading an offense that is currently 30th in ppg, LAST in passing yards per game, and has 22 turnovers which puts them firmly in the bottom third of the league on that stat, 28th in 3rd downs converted, 28th in passing first down, 22 in rushing first downs.

People can cry about the defensive decline and Covington, but AVP is in charge of far of the worst unit on the team and unlike McDaniels in 2020/21, Patricia in 2022, and BOB in 2023, AVP actually has a QB.

I don't really get the AVP love. He has the biggest advantage any Pats OC had of the last few years and is doing horrible with it.
