Keeping our same picks and trades here goes:

3. Olu Fashanu. My LT1. Mr Franchise. Trading out of this spot like with the Giants would be the way to go.
37. Same. Polk is a football player. But Adonai Mitchell has the higher ceiling at the X position. Tough call.
68. QB Spencer Rattler. First round talent. Drew Brees had a hall of fame career being the same height.
103. FS Dadrion Taylor-Demerson You want Joshua Bledsoe there?
110. RB Jaylen Wright. I love this player. Miami got a good one.
180. WR Malik Washington. Miami got another good one. Gotta go offense here not defense. He beat man coverage 76% and converted nearly 60% when targeted on 3rd/4th downs.
193. Same. QB Joe Phucking Milton III!
231. RT Josiah Ezirim. Why wasn’t he taken in the sixth round? A lot like Mafi in that he’s a recent OL guy after playing on the D line for Eastern Kentucky. But look at his measurements! Taken eight picks later by the Saints. With development he can be the RT starter. And we finally have the coaching there.

Double dipped at three offensive positions in dire need of a talent infusion. Filled the hole by McCourty’s retirement. Exciting, versatile new RB.

3/82 - TE JaTavion Sanders

What if we decided to trade with the Vikings? Picks 11 and 23. And next year’s first.

And then traded out of the top of the second to deeper in that round?

Opt out of the so-called franchise QB but build the team. Anyway, the Bears just about gave away a franchise QB to the Steelers.

And we did with the Jaguars.

What if Justin Fields and Mac Jones end up playing well as starters with their new teams?

A. Trade with the Vikings. We give 3 for 11, 23, and next year’s first. So the Jets stay at 10 and take LT Olu Fashanu.

B. We trade with the Bears, who have no second-rounder, for 34. In return we get 75, 122, 144, and QB Justin Fields. Pick 34 is worth 560. The three picks we receive total 401. Fields wanted to go to the Steelers, but if we had wined and dined him, his sentiments may have become pro-Pat. The Bears will likely only get a sixth-rounder for him. If he plays over 51% of the offensive snaps, it goes up to a fourth rounder. So on paper the Bears gain more from us than by trading with the Squealers.

Justin Fields comes in and competes with Zappe, Brissett, and Rourke. The position now holds promise. Will the Krafts & fans be satisfied?

C. We trade with the Cardinals for 90. We give them 103, 144, and 180. Almost equal in the trade chart.

No other trades.

11. Brock Bowers, TE
23. Nate Wiggins, CB
68. Bralen Trice, Edge
75. Kiran Amegadjie, LT
90. Jalen McMillan, WR
122. Will Shipley, RB
137. JD Bertrand, LB
193. Same—Joe Milton III, QB
231. Josiah Ezirim, RT

With those picks, I'm taking a LT no later than 23 and a WR no later than 68; and 137 is WAY too early for Bertrand.

That is an odd definition of "promise."

I wish. The Washington OT who I coveted was taken by Pittsburgh at 20. Right?

I am no Tyler Guyton fan. But I love Patrick Paul’s character and drive and elite measurements. But too rich at 23, no?

And I am smitten by JD Bertrand, short arms and all. His character—he was an Eagle Scout—is so superlative he raises the atmosphere.

Jim Nagy wrote on X that he is the first player who wrote him a thank you note for allowing him to participate in the Senior Bowl.

Nagy is right, which is surprising since he’s a Michigan grad: Bertrand will “out perform” the expectations.

Take a look at his parents. The dictionary definition of good people.

Anyway, Atlanta took him at 143.

You don’t know much about Fields and Chicago, do you?

The Bears screwed the pooch. No, not just in drafting likely bust Pink Fingernails with the first pick.

No. They have a tradition.

It also goes back to changing Fields’s natural footwork so his stance mimics Aaron Rodgers’. I kid you not.

Pittsburgh has let him return to normal. And he’s impressing mightily so far.

So if we’d done the Vikings trade, this opportunity would have presented itself. Interesting.

And two firsts in 2025.

That’s how you rebuild.

That’s how you rebuild.

And that's also how you end up in the position of the Minnesota Vikings, hoping a good QB falls to you or that you can find a trade partner to move up.

I can't say that the Patriots are definitively doing the right thing, but I can certainly understand why they felt taking the sure bet of having Maye (or at worst Daniels) was better than gambling on the future.

Get some fresh air and take a walk in the sunshine. Pet a dog or two. That's a redraft of your time.
Retweet. Redraft after 4 weeks. Ugh.

This has not aged well. Sam Darnold is a damn fine QB. We only had to see it when he was given an opportunity behind a good OL and weapons. Until that _everyone_ said he was only good as a backup in an emergency.

That’s why Maye is not going to succeed until he’s given a much better supporting cast. And the easiest way to do that is by trading down, accruing picks.

We need to hire the Vikings GM.

The Pats definitely need an upgrade in the front office. They were drafting far too high in 2024 to have come away with so few hits
Once you get past the #1 pick, there's almost no difference between the draft picks of the bottom team and the top team.

And they should do that this year. But my point is if you do that before you have your QB, you end up where the Vikings were.
