I blame the one who hired them; but Kraft is cheap so Ron Wolf's kid stays, as does the HC unfortunately.
The Patriots will pick very high 2 years in a row.

They haven't picked that high since 1993.

You never want to pick that high again.

To potentially squander this opportunity with Wolf at the helm, a thing that shouldn't happen but once every 30 years, and now it's happening 2 years in a row, this is malpractice.

Here's a ridiculous statement:

You fire Covington, no one's going to want to work for Mayo, so Mayo will have to be the DC, it would be his first time being a DC.
Yeah I said the same a few weeks ago. I think we need a hard ass to light a fire there and not sure Mayo is that guy. How well can he teach? I suppose if Vrabel is HC, that might motivate Mayo…IDK.

Michel was already a skilled blitz blocker. Chubb wasn't. I expect that's why Bill went with Michel. Both of them were on every ranking as top 5, usually top 3.
So now we place more value in running backs who can “block” over actually “running”? Let’s not defend this pick. The 2018 draft was loaded with star offensive pro bowl talent and we swung and missed twice.

Go look at the ratings for RBs coming out that year. The consensus had both Michel and Chubb in the top 4, back and forth.

With Brady, yes, the idea that Michel was already there to cover blitzes probably mattered a lot to BB. And they won a Superbowl, and Michel was a big part of it.

Bedard's piece today was stronger than his open letter to Kraft.

The tone/content was similar to the most extreme liberal speaking of Trump.

"Pathetic. Unprofessional. Unserious. Overmatched. Embarrassing."

Bedard's only limitation was the Thesaurus ran out of negative adjectives.

I thought his comments were actually a little difficult for him to make. I think he's honestly disgusted at the whole mess.

I have never been much of a fan of his, but I think his comments were on the money. I didn't think he was hyperbolic at all. This team has been crap for a half a decade, after all.

There is truth to this, but not when you are looking to get to the next level.

The Buffalo Bills have been a good example of this.
Yeah, I may be exaggerating my point.

Back during the dynasty years I remember posting a few times that Bill made less mistakes in a season than some HCs made in a game or two.

The turning point was when BB wanted to trade TB to SF and stay with Jimmy G. RK had two options then. Agree to the trade or fire BB and keep TB. He tried the band aid approach. That was the beginning of the end.
So now patsfans posters are stooping to taking tabloid stories as fact?

LOL, the defense doesn't look "almost identical to the Belichick Pats of 2023." This year's version looks, and is, far worse with essentially the same personnel.
I said that the team, T-E-A-M team, was the same in 2023 and 2024, not the defense.

The Pats are better on offense and worse on defense. The end result is the same but with more points scored and more allowed. If the Bills rest and lose this week the 23 & 24 Pats will have an identical won-lost record.

Here are the actual numbers:

That's about as close as it gets. The offensive killer for the Pats are the fumbles. They went from 3 to13 and there's still another game left.

It should have never happened from the Pats' point of view. From Brady's it worked...but, no, Kraft should not have let him walk.

Here we go again with the thinking that a free agent player has to sign a contract put in front of them. Kraft and/or Belichick cannot make any player sign here. Kraft could not stop Brady from walking away 2018 at the end of his contract, which is what Brady wanted to do. What Kraft actually did was ask Tom to play for one more season and they would let him walk free & clear. Kraft has made it clear that he did this at Brady's request and that he felt that after what Tom did for the team, he deserved to get what he wanted.

Kraft could not stop him from walking away if that's what he wanted.

What team? 80% of this roster will/should be turned over…
This team is so lacking in talent that it's almost like it was done on purpose. They're historically weak everywhere but QB (maybe).

The Pats were loaded with cap space but the NYFL had such a large increase that the top FAs were signed by their own teams.

And they also have rookies at many of the coaching positions.

But I'm sure the Tankheads are happy.

We could have easily kept him under control until he was 44.

No, believe it or not, I never read any of the tabloid stories. I determined this in the dark, ugly reaches of my own thought processes.

Implying we franchise him in 2018? You can only do that twice. And then you have a pissed off QB.

Tag wasn't needed until 2020
He signed a 5 year contract in 2013. He wanted to walk at the end of that but Kraft convinced him to stay around for one more year (a contract with a voided extra year for salary cap purposes that specifically excluded him from being franchised at his request). If Brady didn't want to stay, he could have said no and then the Pats only option would have been to franchise him.

People need to stop acting like free agent players have to sign anything put in front of them.

Then you need to convince yourself that you were wrong when you invented the story that Belichick wanted to trade Brady.

His walk year was 2020 we could have reasonably used the tag twice.

Bedard is just another "nattering nabob of negativity" who makes $$$ off of bashing the Patriots..
For some reason that is well liked among many fans today..
Should they be complementing the Pats for their performance?

Kraft has done nothing right since picking Bill over Tom.

Even the Orchids of Asia Day spa was a bad decision
