With the first pick of the 2025 NFL Draft, the Patriots...

My preference is to trade down a couple of slots from #1, accumulate picks and draft Hunter. At the same time it's true we have marginal talent all over the roster. In theory, the more picks the better.

The problem is Wolf and Groh imbue zero confidence in evaluating draft talent. Mayo and his staff showed no ability to develop it.

....and they'll have ~$100m in cap space to burn which I also have no confidence it'll be spent or used wisely.

This feels like 1990 all over again with the only difference is we have talent at QB.

Hopeless
Just like when we traded with Dallas where they took Maryland and the projected best player was the rocket

Taking a deeper look at this staff. TJ McCartney is actually s good coach he has a heavy hand in Drake and his development. I just believe it's been the collaboration.. it's not working. Mayo needs to assert himself more and make it emphatic what he wants and stop flip flopping to make the media happy. This time around the pressure is all on the krafts.. they need to ensure to wolf that he needs to be aggressive and acquire as much talent in the draft as possible. This is the worse than the 32 ranked roster.

This game coming up with Buffalo will be interesting. My son and I were talking about it and agree Milton should start. Lets see how he performs, is he the #2 next year and pushes Maye? If he looks good does it improve his trade value? Seems like playing him is the way to go (Maye has already taken too many head shots this year) because Jacoby should not be on the roster next year.

I am concerned that Mayo will risk injury to the handful of decent players we have to get a win for the purposes of lowering the flame under his ass currently despite that clearly evaluating the non-starters and solidifying the first pick in the draft is the optimal play. We will see if he puts the franchise before himself this week. Sadly I expect he will play starters and attempt to win, lets hope he continues with his winning ways.

Please elaborate on why you think McCartney is a good coach. Specific reasons, qualities, accomplishments, background, experience, etc.

Mayo doesn’t know what he wants. He is the cause of the flip flop.

Don’t worry, PF2 hasn’t watched them either, he just wants them to go WR with every pick.
Let's me lay it out for you Ivan....LT and WR in FA ie... Cam Robinson - Tee Higgins. In the Draft on a slight a Trade Down take either WR's Travis Hunter or Tetaroi McMillan. With that early Second Rounder take another swing Tackle with LT Potential one who could start @ RT his Rookie year ie... Josh Simmons I don't think he goes in the First take him at the Top of the Second. Simmons might be ready to practice by TC. Offense all set use the Rest of the Picks on Defense.

Of course it’s in our best interest to lose, but making decisions based upon the actual if injuries when we don’t have another game for 9 months is silly. Players need experience to get better. We have a lot of players that need to get better.

Just the thought of a game winning Presser would make me want to strangle Mayo. What a sad man Mayo is jonesing for win in a meaningless game.

Becuase he has more to do with the day to day development of Drake and he deserves credit for that. Just imagine if we didn't have a QB.. we already need everything else to bring us up to the NFL standards as a roster. So if I have to highlight one specific coach it's TC. Please don't get me wrong I'm not saying this staff is world class by any means.

Buffalo can hand them the game and they still would loose.

Not in this meaningless game it's over. They can get better working hard on strength - condition and technique in the Off-season.

How do you know that? How do you know he is having a positive impact? Has Maye improved dramatically?
It sounds like you found the most talented player and said ok I think his coach must be good. Maye has 2 other coaches working with him. He has won 1 game. He doesn’t look much different today than he did in his first start.
Maybe Maye is that good and the coaching is holding him back.

They get at most 17 opportunities. Sure you need to figure out how to lose but benching guys who need development helps no one

Real...Mayo is a desperate man having the #1 overall increases our Trade potential. Having #4 or 5 not so much...Mayo would Cut his nose off to spite his face.

I'm not saying sitting starters for fear of injury is the lone reason for the move, its more about seeing what we have in reserve. I don't see any reason to play Maye this week after he took yet another head shot last week, the last game is meaningless. I would not be surprised that the Bills having nothing to gain from the last game resting or limiting snaps for a lot of their starters and as a side benefit hosing us over on the draft.

No I just found the QB that was developed by the actual QBs coach TC McCartney. The play calling is hampered by the OL AVP even admitted as much. Anyways I was just touching on that.

Agreed PF2.. but this defense is already in Cancun.. if you thought they were JAGS this season wait until you see who plays in the finale

No Patriots Fan should care about them winning this game. A Trade netting a Second in 25 and a First in 26 should be our hope this Team Needs Good Players.

AVP will not be here Real: the Krafts have already shown their Displeasure... Maye is going to have to learn a New Offense in 2025... I know some are not going to like it but it is what it is.

If AVP is gone.. the I believe TC McCartney should be elevated.. or the mystery man McAdoo. Covington has been worse than AVP if anyone should go it's Covington he's been in the organization and in the defense. Pathetic!
