The patriots Wr’s are so abhorrent that a 5 rec for 95 yard day is being celebrated in its own thread like it’s Oktoberfest.
Its worth mentioning heading down to the finish line similar to 2000.

This weekend is a true test for Maye and the offense vs the Chargers # 1 ranked defense.

Hunter already said he wants to be a WR.

Hunter is a can't miss. McMillan is a lot like Evans and N'Keal Harry. Tall slow guys have a much higher bust potential.
1. N’Keal Harry is not nearly as tall. He’s only 6’2. McMillan and Evans are 6’5.
2. Did you really mention that clown Harry in the same breath as borderline hall of famer, Mike Evans ?

Nico Collins year 2 in the NFL 37/481/2

Kayshon Boutte year 2 in the NFL 32/444/2

just saying.....
Nico Collins 6’4 225lb
Kayshon Boutte - 5’11 195lb

Just saying…

Collins only played 10 games his second year. So Boutte playing 15 games is equivalent to Collins playing 10 games. Is that your point?

Maybe we just need a RB like jahmyr gibbs whom teams will need to give attention to which opens up the field.

I think if AVP can devise proper screens and run options /b ack up plans with Maye and Gibson it will start to really open up the field for Boutte and Douglas.

We have a Trojans horse in Marcus. Use him. Get creative . Last 2 games nothing to lose. Try all sorts of weird things. Even if it sucks it's okay.

A short WR with brittle bones…pass

Why do we always have to go after other teams retreads?

Draft a super stud at number 2 overall and you have him under cost control for 5 years
Becuase we suck at drafting and developing WRs. Alot of it had to do with BBs mentality on WRs . He never felt like he should pay top dollar for WR talent.

We changed the game when we used the RBs like faulk, woodhead, lewis, sweet feet, vereen. The OL is the reason why we can't utilize the screen game like it needs too.

The Pats need a big dominating WR as a # 1.

Like a DK Metcalf
Pape says he would talked Garrett Wilson over him?.. I think we can get DK in a trade and we can go after Wilson in 2026. We will need to be smart with the cap as they are going to need to extend gonzo by end of 2025..

Maybe you are right . Considering next year is an eval year before everything gets torn up , might be better to retain some members of OL and hoping we coach better and continuity helps drive better results with better back ups .

I would be okay for team to have

Lowe, onwenu, Robinson , Andrews / strange as core linemen

with backups Im brown, Wallace, sow .

Get 2 Developmental tackles in draft and 2 linemen in free agency ( 6-8 million / year ) 3 years deal but only 1.5 years guaranteed. ( 10 million max) .

Again this philosophy is on hope that they improve next year. No point having carousel of linemen . Maybe 3rd year is the charm. Just do minor tweaks while you evaluate. No good offensive lineman would want to come here and top tackles would anyways be signed by their teams. I don't expect Stanley to be available.

That's a good idea. I know I have been harsh on lowe.. becuase at times he shows he's a solid player and other times shows why he was a 6 rounder. We definitely will be upgrading the tackle spots for sure.. the tackles are so important to the use of the screen game. Yeah Ravens are going to lock Stanley up for sure!

It's funny. I figured Pop might be the one who emerges in this offense. But he has regressed a bit.

Boutte meanwhile is starting to show that he might be a solid #2 WR if the Pats can get an #1.

Pop is a slot guy and in AVPs offense it doesn't necessarily utilize the slot WR much like the old patriots offense. Pops been being used on WR screens and slip screens to utilize his speed and ability.. once we do get guys on the outside Pop could have some big production.

Boutte has shown he deserves to be in the league and that’s about it. Whether it’s a spare part WR or a guy who’s a starter is up in the air.

If AVP stays, he needs to figure out how to better get Pop going. Need to incorporate some of those short option routes like the prior patriots offense has where he can use his short area separation skills. They simply around running him on routes to take advantage of his best skills.

Agreed. The OL has been the reason that the passing game is limited.. the tackles need to be able to block enough to give Drake time to hit the slot WR in pop. Plus there is alot if redundancy with the WRs. Boutte and baker are really the only true outside WR'S that can beat man coverage. Pop is excellent 8,9 yards off the LOS. His first step and his ability to make defenders miss are his strong suits.
