Titled “Dear Robert and Jonathan, here’s a reality check”…

Bedard is just another "nattering nabob of negativity" who makes $$$ off of bashing the Patriots..
For some reason that is well liked among many fans today..

He has always skewed more negatively than most journalists covering the team, but that’s not hard to do when most of them seem as if they’re afraid to ever say anything negative. In general I find him mostly balanced, even if I don’t agree with everything he writes or says, which is perfectly fine.

Bedard was too negative with the BB regime, probably left over from his years at the Globe, where they just had a vendetta against him.

But he's been fair in giving Mayo and friends a decent chance.

Read his stuff from training camp.

Every chance he had to praise the "brain trust", Bedard did.

It definitely captures the zeitgeist of the fanbase, writ large.

Sure, there are definitely folks here that are not as pessimistic as the majority, but this is the most down I've seen the fanbase on the team since at least 1999 (people forget how down the fanbase was on Carroll by the point).

If Bob Kraft fired Belichick as his son advised him to after 2017, he wouldn't have won the 2018 Super Bowl.

If Kraft fired Belichick and kept Brady in 2019, Brady wouldn't have won his 7th Super Bowl on the same rapidly aging Patriots team we saw in 2019. Brady's late career would have finished with a whimper.

Belichick (who was not yet 70) would have gone to another team and Bedard would be writing this same letter in reverse.

Do you think we should feel positively about this team?

You can’t compare Tom Brady the QB to Jerod Mayo the HC.

I actually read it, normally I eschew Bedard and his negativity. He was given a recommendation by someone here, and I tuned into him, back in the day. Bedard lost me right off when he was ranting and *****ing about something inane while Tom and Bill were both still here, and I have been reticent to come back, knowing he's cut from the same cloth as Shank. With that, I can pick a few nits, most notably that Krafts should have kept Tom and launched Bill, which @upstater1 covered. I think Bedard has is pretty much dialed here, and it feels like Kraft got put together with a little fanboyism by promoting Mayo so early.

DarrylS has only one schtick…..crapping on media… with an emphasis on talk radio

Thank You Bedard!!
Hopefully Jonothan or Robert will read.
Happy he is trying to share the fans opinions!!!
If Mayo stays the franchise is in danger of losing passion and interest from fans.

Never thought I would say it but I miss Bill the coach
