Cole Strange Activated for Cards Game... but wasn't active... Cuz We Can't Have Nice Things...

I think he’s right about how well he fits the needs for that position.
Yes, and we talked about it on here quite a bit. I’m concerned that he might be a good fit for the position, but taught by someone who has not demonstrated success teaching the OL anything so far this season. The OL didn’t even know how to line up properly for cripes sake!

Yes, Lowe and others should have been yanked and someone else elevated in their places. We have several Practice level players who should be on a 53 man squad except with 2 injuries and played only in case of emergency.

We have had Onwenu and a rookie RG not really ready to play, but better than what we had. Will anyone else other than our injured players be back for camp (Wallace, Strange, Andrews and Andrews)? In good times, would we expect even those to make the 53?

I haven't a clue with regard to whether Peters can coach.

The excuses start. Cry me a river.
It isn't a matter of excuses.

Wolf or the GM will decide whether to give him another year. Obviously results by the OL were terrible in 2024. IMO, there is no man under age 70 that could have made our OL look even mediocre this year.

Agreed. Because the GM failed at his job. Remember the press conference early in the year when Wolf said he liked the personnel on the OL?

Don't forget. Wolf is a clown. If we don't get rid of the clowns......

Shame on Peters for not being able to coach up the worst talented OL in the NFL, and one that had lots of injuries.
How about getting them to the point where they don't hamstring the team with the same drive killing penalties week after week? Or is that one simple thing too much to ask?

is that a rhetorical question?

I predict Strange will get knocked immediately on his *ss at least once in his first start at center. The dude couldn't anchor as a guard, even without needing to worry about having the ball in his hands.

Strange is not the best at stopping bull rushers, but he is so much better than Robinson or Brown. This assumes he has fully healed which might not be true. He has a bad knee injury.

You want to keep Robinson and Brown and bench Strange? You might be the only one that thinks that.

What happened to sow ? I thought he played LG well..

I don't want either Brown or Strange as a long-term solution at center.

We have not seen Strange yet. Watching him instead of Brown for a couple of games would be a good thing. Then we can decide. Might as well give Strange a chance since we have no-one else. Strange might surprise. Brown is not going to surprise us.

Scar gave him a vote of confidence, and I don’t see Scar as a guy who talks out of his ass. That said Peter’s didn’t get anything out of this OL this season.

Taking Peter’s out of the equation a number of things need to happen

1-Successfully moving Strange to Center to stabilize the position long term, and not have to use draft or free agent capital on a Center.

2) Sign a free agent tackle Ronnie Stanley and Alaric Jackson are the best options, but both teams have the cap space to sign them. So they are going to have to use either their first pick, or trade back up into the first round to get one.

3) Caeden Wallace and/ or Layden Robinson need to turn into starters next season. However they also have the cap space to sign a guard in free agency, and that could remedy the interior OL.

Bottom line-they have the cap space and draft capitol to fix the OL this coming offseason, and that’s clearly the priority. Wolf has to get this done this offseason to move this team forward.

what is Scar going to say? "Nah.. Pass... guy couldn't coach little league"?

Scar was being politic

While acknowledging that he will have the offseason, OTAs & TC to devote to his possible transition to Center, I sure wouldn't mind seeing him there during at least one of our last three games.
No Cap! Keep him in bubble wrap.. let him transition into C during the offseason. Let him get closer to 100%.. although different situations.. for example Barmore returned to prematurely and hopefully he doesn't have a set back next season. Strange has to line up next to line dancers instead of linemen. The legend of Cole Strange continues!

I’m sure Scar has been asked for comments many times and simply passed. He didn’t have to say anything. I don’t remember him bolstering Dave Deguglielmo.

I’m not suggesting Peter’s is doing a good job, I’m just saying I was surprised Scar backed him.
