Feels like everyone's feeling on the team is something similar to...

"I'm pretty sure the players all suck. So it's the GM's fault for having a ****ty team. BUT he only had one year after the mess BB left with so I'm not sure it's all his fault. And maybe the players don't actually suck, it's the head coach who does. So he needs to go. But maybe it's not the head coach, he just couldn't get any coordinators but now he can because Maye is inspiring hope so he can try again there. But Maye is getting better so maybe the position coaches are actually doing good and better than the head coach."

It's really all just talking in circles. Everyone's gut instinct is that all parts of the operation suck. The GM doesn't seem qualified. The head coach doesn't seem qualified. The OC doesn't seem qualified. The DC doesn't seem qualified. Just start over. Bring a whole new regime in with shared vision and a cohesive working relationship. Do it the right way. No mismatched nonsense.

I hate to say this.. as I like Mayo... but seems he's in over his head and he can be moved into the front office no so much a "firing "...
Shouldn't he be embarrassed - ashamed - to take an obviously token position? I would be.

You look for improvements and adjustments made through the year.

He had no say in how awful this team was going to be constructed it’s not on him.

But the team is undisciplined, tons of penalties, outside of Maye and the resurgence of the two tight ends I think almost everybody has gotten worse.

Maybe some day he’s ready but today is not the day. At his level of experience he should probably still be. LB coach or special assistant on defense

It's incredible that some people voted 'No'.

Fake Optum exec
Fake DC (ish)
Fake HC

I think he's comfortable with the concept...
I think DEI and other forms of "affirmative action" have done terrible damage to blacks' reputation as a group. It is is dismaying to me that they acquiesce in the insulting view that they cannot compete on an equal basis, on merit. If someone told me I had no shot at competing on merit, I would certainly take offense. I am baffled that they do not feel the same.

The new idea for the Pro-Mayo section of the media is to get Mayo an “overlord” to help him out. They’re throwing everything at the well except for the one solution that would most easily solve everything. Clean. House.

Curran has gone completely off the reservation with all the excuses and shilling for the Krafts and for Mayo. It's embarrassing. He should be ashamed of himself for posing as a journalist as he indulges in this nonsense.

One random thing that annoys me.
Ever since Mayo mentioned the recognition to the player that helps his teammate get up off the turf the most in a game, I notice it being done all the time.

Every time I see it, I cringe and even feel embarrassed for the players.
Seems like something a high school coach would do. Just seems so weird to see multiple players run over to help a guy up.
Maybe get back to the huddle, you only have so much time between plays!

I just don't get what this accomplishes at an NFL level, and it is starting to drive me nuts in games.
Is this how he instills culture? Oy Vey! Seems so amateurish.

Every time I see this it somehow in my mind reinforces the idea Mayo is not ready for this job.

Probably a stupid thing to be annoyed by and maybe it's just me LOL.

What he say now?

Another thing he’s been spinning is “things aren’t as bad as they seem”, “they’re not far off”. Saying the Arizona game was very competitive if you change 8 plays that happened. Bruh, those 8 plays are how you lose games. And he’s being completely serious.

Who'd come here to coach should be asked before if he should be fired. But yea RLKAG.

mayo, may one day be a good/great coach but Kraft ****ed up on promoting him way too early, he wasn't ready to replace the goat, perhaps a fall guy like when Scam Newton came in to replace Brady I knew this year would be bad, however, I did expect the team to be somewhat competitive

When Mayo was first hired as HC I was open to it. We had been spun this idea of him being groomed for the position. Learning from the best etc. We were also told he was a high quality exec in the business world with tremendous people skills. Sounded good. Fast forward to his introductory presser and I was already wondering if this was a mistake. It felt off. Not just calling his boss Thunder but the whole presser was filled with bad jokes, awkward poses and glib generalisations. Ok, maybe, he was nervous. Nope. His pressers are still a disaster i.e. he just isn't very good at them. He isn't this great people person we was led up to be.

Ok, not so great on the people person front. What about coaching? This team is worse than last years and last years was the worst I'd seen since the last millennium. He doesn't look or feel like a leader. On the sidelines he appears confused and out of his depth. I'm sure he's a great bloke and was a top player. None of that means he'll be a good HC.

Personally, I'd fire Mayo and Covington asap. I'd keep AVP to work with Maye, but even he'd be on a short leash. Sometimes things are just so bad you don't need a second year. This team on and off the field is beyond bad. Thunder appointing his friend over a competent HC after an open interview process was an undeniable mistake.

My vote is no, the cupboard was bare even though there was money available to have made some significant signings...
Give him another year and probably upgrade the coordinators as well whoever is in his ear from the box from above.

This narrative just exposes you. This is not why he was hired. Please wake up to the fact that Mayo was hired because he made Kraft feel comfortable and seemed competent. By banging this dei drum, you only damage yourself.

I hope mayo can turn it around and field a competitive team in the last 3 weeks.

I doubt that will happen based on history, but I really hope he does.

"Feel comfortable and seemed competent"? It's sounds like you tacitly agree withThelonious. You're certainly not describing a meritocracy.

Meritocracy? Why would you think merit has anything to do with getting a job? It's all about who you know and how you make people feel.
