Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

Every ****ing week with this guy. It’s sad because I loved him as a player but over the course of the season he’s slowly made me just straight-up hate him. He does nothing well and constantly seems to be acting like a little snake, which is probably how he got here in the first place.

I barely remember him as a player. It seems like he wasn’t here very long and I didn’t really notice when he left.

If the Krafts and Mayo were not colluding behind BB’s back to back stab him, and imagine if BB would have agreed to work with a competent GM who had final authority on draft picks, imagine where we would be now just by keeping BB.

A potential future great young franchise QB and a defensive master mind.

What’s not to like?

Option A:
Keep Jerod, fire AVP, bring in some random ass underqualified OC nobody wants, nothing improves and they fire everyone after 2025, and Maye ends up with his 3rd OC in 3 years in 2026

Option B:
Just fire the whole staff now and bring in a competent HC who will be able to get a competent OC (if the HC is not the playcaller himself) and then Maye probably gets more stability going forward

And remember with option A, Maye is not forced to re-sign with the Pats.

I remember when Mayo retired the first thing that popped into my head was "dang, i guess no more "little bit of mayo" interviews. when his daughter would go around asking players questions.

That's literally the biggest impact he had as a player on me. Lots of hyper but I can't remember a single BIG moment from him.

Mayo doesn't have that IT factor and NFL coach needs. he blames everyone and everything for the losses, and then walks it back the next day. The dudes temperment is ****ing terrible. He gets tilted easily. He makes really basic mistakes. He's not ready to be a head coach.

This team is absolutely cooked if they bring him back next year. the whole coaching staff needs to be redone. the Era of bill and his friends/players is over imo.

Keep Jerod, win 6 games next year, call it progress, win 8 the following year, call it more progress. Maye develops into a perennial all-pro and yet the team caps at 10 wins and early playoff exits.

Listening to the nattering nabobs of negativity on Sportstalk Radio this AM, once again very predictable.. blame Mayo for everything...
Mayo did not shop for the groceries..
Mayo tried to recruit other coaches especially for the OC, however there was reluctance... enter AVP.
About the second and 4 round picks in last years draft., one is on the field and cannot get open the other cannot even make it to the playing field.
The 3rd round pick has seen little playing time due to injury.
Who is Jerrod's earpiece from high above??? Whoever it is Jerrod is either ignoring that advice or that advice is crappy.
It is a huge clusterf... with plenty of blame to go around.
To hold Mayo completely responsible is not fair to him..

Here is BBs glowing review of Maye. I mean it's not terrible, but doesn't strike me as a guy who would have been cartwheeling over drafting Maye.

He was fortunate to get TC McCartney, who has fixed a lot of those glaring problems that Belichick (and many others) rightly pointed out. 1) Good coaching 2) Maye accepted coaching.

None of that says 'Hurr durr he totally would have traded out'

I agree with you here. I can't see RKK blowing it up. It blows up the whole myth of the Patriot Way that he's cultivated for 20 years.

That's fair. However, so is holding Mayo directly responsible for the defense falling apart, usually after the other team has made in-game adjustments and we do not.

Hope it’s a win out or your all packing your bags.
The ocs had turned us down had good sense or good agents.
I feel bad for AVP I think he should be a QB coach.

This needs to be burned to the ground what’s almost as important as HC is the staff they are bringing with them.

I would think out of Johnson, Brady, Vrabel, Kingsbury, Moore.
Kingsbury or Vrabel Would have the best staff.

Any change of getting Pioli back as a GM?
We could do a lot worse.

He needs to be fired. Thru 14 weeks he's done nothing to remotely show he should get another seaaon. Can't blame the roster when a better coach that picked a better staff might have this roster at 8 wins. 5 1 score losses this year that when I look back at those games it was the coaching that was the reason those games were lost.
