Cole Strange Activated for Cards Game... but wasn't active... Cuz We Can't Have Nice Things...

I think Cole Strange is playing this week and we might see a Jet sweep to Baker, hopefully he doesn't drop it.

Your correct PF2.

Briefly.

I don't know why people want him to play C when he's not going to get resigned here.

What if he does excellent at C like our old pal Hjalte? I’d re sign him if not only for the bit of continuity/experience he has here. Just wouldn’t break the bank and I don’t think he’d reset the market if let to test FA.

This reads like Gilbert & Sullivan lyrics from the Broadway show, the HMS Parkour.

With many cheerful facts about the square of the fugue obtuse.
So give three cheers and one cheer more for the well bred Captain of the Pinafore!

On second thought, forget that first thought

Some good news for once... No matter your opinion on Strange he is one of the better lineman we have... Instant upgrade to the left side of the line ... Well, after he knocks the rust off... Still no timetable set for his return

Can one of BB's biggest draft FLOPS redeem himself? Pressing X to doubt. I don't think he can handle LT. If he shores up a guard spot, that will at least be something. But let's see if he even plays on Sunday.

our line has been under the mendoza line all year... he's got to be better than what we've been rolling out there on a weekly basis

Strange is signed for 2025. There is zero chance that his option will be picked up.

If he's healthy enough to be activated, then he's gotta be a better option at LG than Laydown Robinson, who never played a lick of it until last week, and it showed. Not exactly who I want in front of The Franchise.

Must see TV this Sunday.

If they have him at C this year and is excellent at it (bar isn’t that high so shouldn’t be hard), think they’ll resign him for a non bank breaking, positional pay non market reset? I think he should be resigned for market value at least a RK old man pube hair more. I know he was taken earlier than he should have been, but what’s done is done and he has been serviceable (not elite by far) and I feel he should be a cornerstone of the rebuild going forward and paid as such. If he shows signs of being an all pro C if tried out at it then his pay should at least reflect that. Imagine if he leaves over 1mil and becomes the all pro I am talking aboot. On top of making us look even dumber we would have to get another OL or 2 to make up for it.

You seem to be saying that you want to give Strange a raise in his final contract year. There is no reason to do so.

I suppose that we could extend him as we did with defensive players in 2024, but that likely wouldn't happen at least until after the draft, although I suppose it could happen earlier in order to solidify a 2nd OL position for the next 3 years.

Also, I don't have the confidence that you do that it shouldn't hard for a player to show that he is excellent at a new position in only four games after a long injury, excellent enough to want to extend his contract a couple of years because he is so excellent at his new position.

Why wouldn’t he get resigned here. He is probably the best OL on the roster and worst case he is #2.
Are you saying our plan is to play practice squad OL indefinitely?

The Pats will sign/draft better OL players this off season. He's average at best.

Isn’t that what we were saying at the end of last season?

What happened?

Why do we expect things to go differently this off season?
Because it's a different off season with different players hitting the market.
