Thank you Mac Jones!

At this point I’m ok with shutting down the 3-4 good players we have to ensure our draft position. Drake is only 22 and a late-season injury or win would be a disaster. Let’s see what we have with Milton for funsies.

It's pretty pathetic that the Patriots (and we as fans) have fallen this far. Screw the draft.

Bill oversaw the drafting of Mac, then acted in a churlish and irresponsible way so as to ensure Mac would amount to nothing. Those of you longing for the good ol' days with Bill take note.
Some people will never believe that Mac Jones is the worst QB drafted over the last several years.

He is beyond awful. Belichick was right to implore Kraft to move on, but Kraft is a fanboy of QBs; if he wasn't so old I imagine he would be perfect for the lead role of cheerleader in that movie about the girl who falls in love with the QB which will be playing on Freebee in 3 weeks, right after they finish filming.

Anyone who watched Mac yesterday got treated to a panicking QB who threw balls up for grabs and who drove balls into the ground from 5 yards away. He said that he has learned a ton from Pederson, an offensive coach, and yet he's playing worse than ever.

Thelonious sounds like the Browns fans who thought Belichick ruined Kosar, only to see Kosar get cut out of the league when Belichick was fired, while Testaverde became a top notch QB who even started a season 11-1 just 2 years later!

If so then why did Bill draft him? And no it wasn't a collaboration, it was solely Bill with that responsibility. You'd think a good GM would have seen a bunch of red flags on a prospect before wasting a first round pick on him.
He is beyond awful.
He has the same mechanical flaws he had since day 1 in the league. That's from bad coaching and development. The Matt Patricias of the league wouldn't get rid of those flaws.

That's like saying Bill ruined Drew Bledsoe. Kosar wasn't a prospect, he was a vet and what you see is what you got.

Mac sucks. Nothing anyone could have done would make him better. Covid made it impossible to judge those qb's and obviously they weren't good.

Jesus get your head out of your ass for once. You *****ed when Bill chose people early and *****ed when he chose them late. Mac was predicted to go earlier than he did. He was the consensus pick at that spot. People would have burned Bill at the stake if he hadn't selected him there. Based upon the performance of all of the other qb's in that draft, they all sucked. I go back to the covid year of limited playing that messed up all of the draft reviews, but who knows.

Yeah I agree with all of that.

It is weird though that a lot of Bill apologists keep beating this drum that Mac Jones is like the worst pick ever like it's a flex or something lol. If Mac Jones always sucked that's on the GM and only the GM for picking him no matter the circumstances. Period.

I wanted a trade up for Parsons, but I was fine with the pick when it was made. I wasn't fine with how he was developed.

Mac still has that magic just like old times.

When I watch this, it feels like it's in slow motion, and I have Carly Simon's Nobody Does it Better playing in my head.

Owes Patricia an apology? Lol for what?

Jags play the jets next week so thats another win win for us. If the jets end up with the top pick are they taking hunter or a qb?

This is why I had slight PTSD when I watched this earlier this year:

I'm against drafting Hunter unless they think he has elite WR potential and not drafting him as a CB who can play WR in certain situations. As a CB, he is a luxury pick where the Pats are a team with far too many needs to draft another CB in the top 3 when Gonzalez is shaping up to be potentially an elite CB in this league. Do the Pats need an elite CB covering the #2 WR of other teams when they have no franchise LT, a true #1 WR, or any semblance of a pass rush?

If they are in the top 3, I would recommend to trade back. I think there will be a lot of interest from teams to trade up to get Sanders, Ward, and Hunter. The Pats could trade down a couple slots and still get Campbell, Banks, or Tet and pick up a second rounder or another first. Or they could trade down five to ten slots and get multiple firsts and still get a solid player of need.

Unless they decide to make Hunter a full time WR who can play CB part time or want to trade Gonzalez, drafting Hunter in the top three would be idiotic. This team has far too many pressing needs to use a luxury pick in the top 3 picks of the draft. If they end up in the top 3, I am kinda hoping they do trade down even if it is a few spots.

Mac wasn't the worst. Hell, Trey Lance is still not starting even with Dak Prescott done for the year. Zach Wilson may never see the field ever again.

Mac was always a guy who was only going to succeed if he had a everything good around him. That wasn't the Patriots and it ain't the Jags. Hell, Trevor Lawrence has been awful this year in the same offense. Better than Jones, but still pretty bad.

Mac looks to be pretty much broken. He can no longer able to deal with pressure. But we will never know what he might have been if Belichick actually tried to help him to succeed rather than put him in a horrible situation and setting him up to fail. The ceiling is still probably very low unless he was in a Miami or 49ers (before all the injuries) situation.

Travis Hunter is hands down the Best player in the 2025 Draft. If you don't know you better ask somebody. He would help us on both sides of the ball. You can't pass up a Talent like him if you get the chance.

Thank you, Matt Millen. There are other ways to upgrade our WRs than by wasting a Top 5 pick on a non-Top 5 talent.
I believe Tetairoa McMillan is a top 5 talent. So do many professional scouting agencies. I believe he is very comparable to Mike Evans. Would you call investing in a potential Mike Evans a waste?

Sounds like you disagree with my assessment of McMillan. You want to explore alternative options to upgrade WR. Could you please share a plan? Trade? FA? Drafting another Taylor Price in round 3?

Be careful of your indictment of former Jets QB's Geno Smith and Sam Darnold says hold our Beers. I still think Wilson will get another chance. That said I would add Josh Rosen to the group but Mac is terrible!!
