The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

Under the above scenario it’s actually pretty plausible. Bill does have a serious affinity for blatant nepotism and cronyism. “I’ll do it IF you guarantee my son the job when I leave”.

Actually, kind of makes me wonder if that wasn’t an additional sore spot in NE…

“You made Jerod successor and not my son”.

Hell, I’m not even sure he would have been wrong as making Steve the successor would have given Bill actual motivation to help leave the team better.
What purpose does it serve to just make stuff up like this?

Reports this evening are saying BB had a second interview with UNC, in Manhattan.

1. It’s clearly stated hypothetical conjecture.

2. He literally told UNC that Steve being named HC in waiting was part of any deal.

Not really all that far fetched.

The **** else do we have to talk about with this dumpster fire of a team on a messageboard about it?

Yes Ron Meyer's success at SMU was about his coaching and not the payments he arranged.
One of the best documentaries I’ve seen was the one about SMU and the money coming from boosters.

Bill fired Mac when he went to Zappe
Benching isn't firing and the season was over at that point. Mac employment and future with the Patriots had nothing to do with Bill Belichick. If the next coach wanted to keep him, he would have been able to.

You can keep doing this but Bill was fired first lol. If Mayo thought Mac was a serviceable back up or stop gap, he'd still be on the roster right now.

And frankly, if Bill did go to Jacksonville, he would not have roster control.

I get you hate Mac with a burning passion, but Bill was an unemployed bum who couldn't find a coaching job by the time we moved on from Mac.

I'm sorry if you like Mac more than Bill.

Tbh it’s a pretty embarrassing look to be interviewing for relatively mediocre college jobs to coach again. Dude is one of the greatest of all time and no one in the NFL wants him so he goes to dig for a college position?

Should be beneath him.

I don't. I'm just not letting my hate confuse me that a fired coach fired someone who was still employed because the narrative feels good to me.
JFC it was a joke and not even a good one. Ok he can demote him again.

IMO, something bad happened at the end with Kraft. Something really bad. Kraft let the other owners know and now no one will touch him. To me that is the only viable explanation for interviewing at an ACC college ... JMO.

I see your argument but also the average fan could tell you that Bill was losing his fastball somewhat and that was definitely the case in terms of being a general manager. If I were an owner I wouldn’t have hired him and it wouldn’t have taken Kraft’s word for that to be the case.
