I can't contain myself with how excited I am about this kid. He's got it all: skills, demeanor, leadership, competitiveness and drive. He's a GREAT teammate. When something goes wrong, he puts the blame on his shoulders, UNLIKE his laughable embarrassment of a coach.

I was wrong about holding him out until the line is league average. I was a prominent member of the group that worried about his health and development should he be thrown into this mess, but I underestimated him. He's so good he can thrive even in 2024 hell-scape of a season, with the worst coaching staff ever assembled for an NFL team and the weakest talent of any team in the league. Hindsight is 20/20. The great ones rise above and elevate their teams, no matter the circumstances. What a player. If Kraft ****s this up (and I believe he will) over loyalty to useless Jerod Mayo, it will be unforgivable. He will go down in infamy in NE.

Regarding his greatness as a teammate, how good is this quote on his one interception Sunday? I'd follow this guy into battle.

“Yeah, just try to get to him quick and hopefully he gets in,” said Maye when asked about the play after the game. “I think I put on the wrong shoulder. I think if maybe I put on the opposite shoulder away from the defender, I think that’s maybe a completion there. But it was just unfortunate that it got tipped up. So, just a bummer.”

He's exciting to watch for sure. But he needs to stop throwing game losing picks. He needs to learn when to take a sack and when to throw it away. He's really young so (hopefully) that will come with time.

But yeah, entertaining player who's rough around the edges.

I'm not worried about the picks. He hit Hunter Henry on the hands on Sunday. Brady's TD:INT ratios were 2:1 or worse until 2007. The talent and line are so poor on the offense the interceptions are irrelevant to me at this point. There have been a few bad ones, but he's a 22 year old rookie. He reads the defense so well and so quickly, if given a bit more protection he will gash it. He's going to be a monster if they get some talent around him.

That's a big IF.

Its easy to forget how risky it was to throw him behind this oline with nobody to throw to. Most rookies would have **** their pants. On top of overcoming that and playing well above expectations, you nailed it he’s got the complete mental makeup to be a successful leader. Hopefully we get him the support

He's electrifying. The league is sleeping on him.

So are fans from teams we're about to play.

For instance, this:

Jayden Daniels started faster, Caleb Williams has had his moments, Drake Maye has shown promise, but right now? In a do-over draft, I think I'm going with Nix first.

It seems like every QB deep draft has a few good ones and a dud or two

I think Maye is the dud of this group "

We haven't seen JJ McCarthy or Penix Jr play yet either. So there's more to this class.

My main worry is this staff's ability to build the talent around him.
You can see the difference between Maye and Richardson...Maye is light years ahead of him in passing and intangibles. And Richardson have a superior supporting cast compared to Maye.

When speaking about Drake Maye I heard BB said: they also need a WR and Offensive Tackle. I wish I could have climb through my Television and remind of his WR Reaches.
Harry wasn't a reach. It was 6 years ago.

There's a difference between a reach and a bad pick.

Exceeding my expectations. Was under the impression he was ‘a project’ with high upside. Instead, he’s an excellent teammate who is playing VG qb right now. Considering the crap opponents and the state of the league, Maye would be in the playoffs with an improved cast.

I am convinced Mayo/AVP/Krafty Bob put the training wheels back on Maye last Sunday. Offense was super conservative, especially in red area. Hardly any shot plays. I think they drilled Maye NOT to take any chances deep and take it only if the guy is wide open. You have three ****ing wins. Let him play like Drake Maye not ****ing Chad Pennington

So your saying fans from other teams have uneducated dumbasses spewing nonsense as well. Good to know

It was one of the Best WR Drafts Period and we missed badly. Then we took Thornton over George Pickens because I am sure BB heard Pickens was a hot head. He still couldn't coach up that choir boy he drafted. This past 2024 Draft was another Great WR Draft and it's looking like we missed again... you didn't like Polk before we even selected him. What has history taught us??

I agree.....I remember a couple weeks back when he was asked if he is going to start sliding more when he breaks the pocket and he said something to the effect of he is going to play Drake Maye style of football. And Sunday I am screaming for him to slide on that one run and as I am screaming slide he picks up like another 15. The kid is specially but I just hold my breath every time he runs or gets sacked because I think we all are use to things going wrong these days. Remember the times when we would be down in the 4th and have a minute to go and fully expected to win with Brady leading the charge...I think and pray Maye can get us back to feeling that way.

Nah, It was the defense: cover 3, takes away the deep shots, they dared Maye to try deep shots and he did what he should do. Maybe if he had Chase or Hill he could have taken a shot but Colts took that away and they don't have the elite WR to overcome that..

Go talk to Tomlin about Pickens. If there's one thing we know about Tomlin, he's not going to sign Pickens. Pickens will be avalable next year.

As for the draft we missed badly on, I'll say it again: it was a while ago. And almost none of the 9 receivers taken in 1st round are still with their teams, and one of them who is still with his team, Deebo, is a big mistake. He is hugely overpaid.

Of the 9 teams that took WRs that year, only one team is happy: Seattle with Metcalf, the last of the WRs taken.
