Having Xs and Os explained to you by someone who understands is a lot different than explaining them to your players when you don’t understand.

And that was the problem with Phatt Matt & Judge Joey being OC & QBC (and with the whole Lie that a good coach is a good coach is a good coach): Neither of them had any idea why they were saying what they were saying.

I believe mayo has extreme Xs and Os knowledge being a former player and understudy of BB. However doing on your own as a HC can be a daunting task.. he's deep into the season he should be farther along as a developing HC than where he is now. But your right.. the game plan strategy not to have your best CB on either Nucua or cupp is just asinine. I have to keep reminding myself this is a bottom roster all around with a rookie coach and QB.

It's one thing to have all that knowledge and a completely different thing to be able to apply it on the fly, to make adjustments as the game unfolds (and pretty quickly). That was one thing BB was pretty good at, and the one thing I have yet to see from Mayo, as well as his staff although I should give them the benefit of being rookie coaches.

McVay schooled Covington pretty badly yesterday, and by extension, Mayo. It was brutal to watch. Mayo should be watching this game over and over again after this season finishes. He should go to bed with it every night.

Yep; and then on the morning of Black Monday, he should call Covington to tell him that he's been Fired.

Just saw the # for Mayes Average Time to Throw on all dropbacks was a season low 2.55 seconds vs Rams. He helps this line so much with quick release and mobility. Best way to keep a good pass rush in check.

Also dropped his Pressure to Sack Ratio below the magic 20% for the year.
PFF only gave him 1 dropped pass in that game not 2 and still he had an 81.6% adjusted completion %.

Terrible job with the secondary by Convington. Should have gone with some man coverage.

called a pretty good game other than the continued calls to run on 3rd and short. I'd love to go back and see the success rate running on 3rd and 4th and 1 vs passing. Maye is 5 for 5 on a series, completes a 6 yard pass in red zone, runs on 2nd and 4 and 3rd and 1 and then the play Polk got called on would have been a delay of game but they had some stupid direct snap call going on. No designed runs for Maye is something they said they won't do this year, dumb!
HOWEVER, he had good wr spacing, many good play calls, looked like a good OC. Marcus Jones on offense was great to see, Great call at goal line to Lowe.

Sorry, but I just can't agree with you on this. That 4th quarter drive was horribly managed. Why no hurry up? Why run when it clearly was not working AND the passing game was? You don't get the ball in the 4th quarter down two scores & run 6 minutes off the clock for a FG.

I watch patriots all acces each week he has a coaching segment with zo.. Mayo's very impressive with his Xs and Os. However I still will question his coaching decisions
There is a big difference between X’s and O’s as a player or coach
Devising a game plan and tweaking it in game to counter the other teams tweaks is a whole different ball game
Guys like BB, McVay and Shannahan are elite. They have that special mind
X’s and O’s are the end result of their elaborate game plans
Being able to design those game plans seperate’s the men from the boys

I remember the one bad drop by Bell during the 2nd quarter that would've been a 1st down on a drive that ended when MayoNays cowardly eschewed attempting a 54-yard FG... What was the other?

This play shows lack of situational awareness by Brown & Rham.
Sure, Brown should have reacted quicker to the inside stunt, but Rham is also coming right into that massive hole and seeing DL steaming around, he could have at least chipped him to protect his QB.

This is because of the "daycare" hours that Mayo is running. Make sure everyone is having family time and chilling with pingpong and stuff, you know.. it's important for Gen Z.

Absolutely without a doubt I agree. However I believe that every coach has different methods of how they reach players and allow them to grow as players. Some players are unique and have to be coached differently than others. For example BB said it was such a challenge for him and his coaches to challenge brady when he became so accomplished because he had seen everything a defense could present.

You had a good day weather wise
Hope your bro and yourself had a good day

lol what? the were a couple of bad plays away from winning the last 4 games? they've been competitive every game that Mayes started.
# 6 on your tankathon leader board

Matt Patricia is one of the worst coaches I have ever seen. His tenure with the lions was an abomination

I am not sure how many plays it was but at one point in the 4th it literally was run, pass, run, pass, run, pass
