I know I am in the minority on this, but I think it was the right call. A rekick takes more time off the clock and gives them a chance to put you inside the 5.
You take those odds. The punter was more likely to get it into the end zone than inside the 10.

That's what happens when you have Marginal NFL players as Starters.
The depth sucks that's why they can't stop anything.. 3rd and 4th line players.. I'll say this defense really misses peppers.

I believe mayo has extreme Xs and Os knowledge being a former player and understudy of BB. However doing on your own as a HC can be a daunting task.. he's deep into the season he should be farther along as a developing HC than where he is now. But your right.. the game plan strategy not to have your best CB on either Nucua or cupp is just asinine. I have to keep reminding myself this is a bottom roster all around with a rookie coach and QB.
I don't believe this is so. BB could lecture for 15 minutes on any play ever used in the NFL going back to Curley Lambeau's day. Mayo can't even explain the reasoning behind his own game plan beyond saying "the plan is the plan". "Mayo is smart" is spin.

Spot on! BB is an NFL savant his knowledge of every facet, nuance, rule, player habits is just irreplaceable. The version of Barmore we saw yesterday wasn't the dominant player we saw last season.. I'd give him a few more games to knock rust off.. Gibson was brought here to be the guy getting those dump offs and catching out the backfield. He needs to be more involved.
I was just thinking the same thing about Gibson who is supposed to be our "James White"...so far they dont really use him at all as far catching out of the back field.

He's being wasted here in whatever you want to call this offense . He was good in Washington.. I'm sure he having second thoughts now.
he was good earlier in the season, I don’t know what happened - not enough touches?

I see a Big day for Tua on Sunday in that Miami heat no pun.

Could it be on the defensive side.. that the lack of talent along with execution be the problem? Covington has said he kept the excat same defense that he's coached in. When we've faced meidocre defensive fronts even they have been able shut our run game down but we can't stop the run for anything.
They played 100% better last year when they didn't have Gonzalez.

We're seeing players in the wrong position, bad defensive design.

I don't thin he's very good. He never hits the right holes. He wasn't great in Washington either. Big stepdown from Ezekiel.

Not only is coaching a problem, but our personnel people are major problems.

I'm convinced that the pick of Tyquan and the choice to go JuJu over Jakobi was pushed by our personnel people.

I watch patriots all acces each week he has a coaching segment with zo.. Mayo's very impressive with his Xs and Os. However I still will question his coaching decisions

And groh was at the head of this as well.

Interestingly, I believe that IF you had Tet Mcmillan and Tee Higgins THIS year and had Maye starts as #1 QB from training camp day 1 then...
They would have won the 3 games they won and turned a minimum of 4 losses into wins.
They'd be 7-4 and, in the playoffs, today.

Seattle, Miami, Ten and Rams become wins
Jax is maybe a win, but weird game with the run defense crapping the bed. But maybe they would be 8-3 as the offense keeps rolling after that fast start.

Guys come into the league NFL ready these days... our WR issues have been an issue going back years now.. I still have optimism on polk and baker for next season.. but yes PatsFan2 put me on to McMillan.. drafting him and having Higgins on the outside wow.
