I despised last year's team so that's an easy #1. Just unwatchable.

1998 was hard to watch (like Edwards but loved Martin). Maybe more of an annoying season since the Jets hype was off the charts. 2009 also wasn't a lot of fun for me. Oddly enough I thought 2008 was fun to watch even with no playoffs and same with 2020.

2024 would have been up there but with Maye's emergence I look forward to watching them.

2002 was tough but seeing the emergence of Brady was awesome especially that comeback against Chicago.

2002? didn't make a dent at all... still high on the very first super bowl win... plus we started the season by kicking pittsburghs ass...

the 80's/90's teams? eh, i didn't really hate on any of them... they were what they were... and the ability to interact about the team went as far as your circle of friends... it just wasn't as omnipresent as it became once the internet became a thing...

the Patriot team I disliked was the 2005 squad. and I will give you two reasons for that - and these reasons are built on unassailable logic - Beisel & Starks.

2002? Defending Super Bowl champs? Bro. Are you even a fan?

1990 with Rod Rust was nigh unwatchable.
1992 **** MacPherson's 2-14 team. Ugh.
1999 Pete Carroll's failures made it tough to like them and him.
2023 was the first time since the early 90s where you knew they would lose.

Definitely riding the high in 2002 for obvious reasons but they were being punched in the mouth on defense all year and couldn't do anything about it. That was hard to watch. Also annoying to hear all the one year wonder talk. Maybe that had a lot to do with it too...

I had no expectations before Bledsoe arrived so I just rolled with it. When they suck that bad it's fun in it's own way.

What year where Shawn Springs and Adailus Thomas both here? That was no fun.

thomas 07-09... 07 wasn't exactly unenjoyable... least for the first 18 weeks...
springs - 2009

Yup that 2009 team. Too much *****ing in the locker room that year. For some reason there wasn't the buy in needed. That was the year the Bill said he couldn't get them to play the way they needed too to Brady after the 4th and 2 thing.

I didn't care much for the 1990 team. The 1992 team at least beat the Jets.

Yeah maybe I was thinking of 99 not 98.

1.) 1990
The aura about that team after the Lisa Olson incident was incredibly bad.
There was nothing positive or likeable about that team, from players to ownership.
Worst won-loss record in franchise history. The games were never close, with the team setting franchise records for fewest points scored per game, most points allowed per game, and worst point differential. Zero focus or effort.

2.) 2009
Shawn Springs in particular was unlikeable, but there were others like Derrick Burgess too.
It was supposed to be a retribution year with Brady coming back after missing '08, and unfinished business from '07.
Instead it was unlikeable and unwatchable. The playoff rout loss to Baltimore was the (im)perfect ending to a bad year for fans.

3.) 1981
A year after going 10-6 the '81 Patriots - who seemed to still have plenty of talent on the team - found new ways to lose, week after week. They went 2-14, losing eight games by a combined 28 points. To top it off, that earned them the #1 pick in the draft - wasted on Mr. Underachiever, Kenneth 'Game Day' Sims.

4.) 1989
Pats drop from 9-7 to 5-11. Raymond Berry seemed to vacillate between being too stubborn and making knee-jerk decisions in his final year as the head coach. There was chaos at QB, with four different starters - an over-the-hill Grogan, journeyman Marc Wilson, mostly in the doghouse over a contract dispute Tony Eason, and Doug Flutie, another guy Berry didn't seem to have faith in. John Hannah had retired, Raymond Clayborn was aging and in decline, and Sims was still starting and still disappointing.

5.) 1992
The Pats regress to 2-14 in **** MacPherson's second and final season as head coach. After having improved from one win in '90 to six wins in '91, there was optimism and hope - but that quickly dissipated. Not a fun team to watch.

Dishonorable Mention:
1970 Patriots: 2-12 under Clive Rush and John Mazur
1972 Patriots: 3-11 under Mazur and Phil Bengston
It was really difficult to watch those teams, so devoid of talent.

Most SB1 thread ever.

How can he troll Patriots fans any harder. Why not start a thread about the ten worst memories.

Great idea! You start it

I'll have to get back to you on this one. Been a Fan since the early to Mid-70's. So, that's a lot of horrible Patriots Teams to ponder.

Since 2000 the 3 (1 is a sort of cheat) that stand out are:

2009 Patriots
2019 Patriots Weeks 9-Wild Card Round
2023 Patriots

That 2019 team in that stretch I mentioned was painful to watch.

2020-2024 have been really difficult to even watch the Pats, but Maye is helping them stay on life support.

Of the Tom/Bill years, I didn't like the 2000, 2006, 2009, 2013 and 2019 teams. 2018 was pretty boring until the playoffs rolled around where they turned it up.
