The defense needs a complete over haul this off season and it starts with the coach. Both Covington and Mayo can go. Neither can coach a defense to save their life . After this game, I can see that AVP might be improving . His offensive calling wasn't so boring and conservative as before so maybe he is getting netters. The others can all be fired !!!!!!

Second time he has thrown such an INT. Development should not include developing bad habits. He is now repeating errors not fixing them.
You can't be serious. Brady threw his share of interceptions early in his career. There were a lot of repeated mistakes. The interceptions go down as you adjust to the NFL game, read the defense, get your team into the right play, and see the field with experienced eyes. Maye is off to a great start with a horrible team behind a horrible OL with a far below average receiving corp. The difficult level is at 10, and the kid is STILL managing to turn heads and impress people around the league. Let me guess, you didn't want to draft him?

Team badly needs a headlining front 7 player that can wreck games. Keion White ain't it no matter how badly some want him to be. He's a good complementary piece at best.

Need a speedy LB that can compliment Bentley. I'd love for the Pats to snag Dre Greenlaw in FA.

Need a CB opposite Gonzalez. Both Jones' have been awful and the elder has been bad for years.

Need a FS. I see Mapu getting kicked to the curb in training camp if they sign a competent FS.

Need another SS so Dugger can play shorter fields.

With the offense needing an entire OL overhaul, WR's and the needs above, it's going to take a few years and 1995 and 1996 Parcells style drafts to speed up the process.

Yep. A lot of people don't want to remember that because they ended up winning the game, but he threw some pretty bone headed INT's that let teams right back into the game.

Sb 38 and 49 come to mind
49 was later in his career, but good memory on Super Bowl 38. The Pats were up 21-10 and could've blown the game wide open with a TD or just 3 points which would've kept the Panthers moral down. Before the pick, the Panthers looked like the moment was too big for them. That INT pumped them up and ignited that comeback.

During the 1st dynasty, Tom threw his fair share of head scratching picks. He also initially threw a game losing pick in 2006 playoffs against the Chargers.

This board had a mass exodus starting when Tom left and even more when Bill left which is disappointing because this board has been very mild.
The Patriots are among the least competitive teams in the NFL, and most of the discussion is how most of the players, coaches, front office and owner all suck. It’s just not so interesting.

The whole staff and team needs more focus on the details in crunch time or at any time. Brady's top recievers where always on the same pg. It's the details these guys are missing. Stop dancing and test each other's knowledge. Down and distance, route assignment, snap count. Your qb is.

But we can talk about how it can be improved. Posters bailing just showed they were either only here for the predictable good years or they had life changing events that caused them to step away.

lol what? the were a couple of bad plays away from winning the last 4 games? they've been competitive every game that Mayes started.

Brady also had a defense loaded with Pro Bowl caliber defenders....Maye has **** on defense and his defense doesn't turn over the the ball over or give him short fields. It's a night and day comparison.

Have to wonder if Maye is pressing because he doesn't trust his receivers.
Pop Douglas ran the wrong route at a critical time in the game lose Team mentality.

I wonder if St Louis did something defensively yo limit Maye running. In prior Games we saw may escape the pass rush and get some pretty good gains with his feet. Today that seemed very limited. I wonder if they had a spy on him

I'm interested to see how many yards your boy Gonzalez is credited in giving up today? Before today's game, he's got a 76 passing rating when thrown at which is 54th best in the NFL for DB's. I think he's a fine player, but I'd like to see more game changing plays every once in a while.

Didn’t need to run, he was slinging it today.

Montana, Brady, Mahomes didn’t start their first year. We didn’t get to see them fail as a rookie.

Cut Maye some slack please.
Brady was a late round pick, he wasn’t going to start anytime soon

Thought he was a problem last year and was here only because of nepotism.
There seems to be no adjustments at halftime that we are used to. Also in Mayo's press conference he was asked twice about the zone coverage against the Rams and he had no answer. Seems like they don't know what they are doing. Huge difference from what we are used to. Seems like all of the defensive IQ walked out the door.
