Polk is the future but someone has to fix his head....and hands.
I guess Polk's legs are concussed now..can't run a route to get open but can jump offsides at a critical times.

The offense is at least slowly improving week over week. Most of that is Maye, but some of it is other guys too and AVP is improving as a play caller.

The big problem is the defense. They’re just not good. Take the Bears game out of the equation and they’ve sucked for a while now. And you have a defensive coach. I don’t know what’s going on there. Worst part is that a lot of the time the issue seems like poor effort.
AVP is not getting a pass he called a very amateurish Game today on Offense for the most part.

Jonnu Smith has turned into Kelce.
We'll have a super hard time containing Miami's 3 headed monster.
Tua ain't losing to Mayo that we can be sure of.

What is going there is just that they are bad coaches! Seem to me that Steve Belichick was running the D more than Mayo the last few years!

Dunno, I think thats a see what the safety is doing then adapt and Douglas broke outside to split the free safety and I think a corner.

Regardless the INTs are piling up and the league is a passing league now vs Manning in '98 etc.

Maye is the only reason they are in these games. But they can sit him for the rest of the season, fine with me. Then bring him back when they have a real offensive line.

He's gaining valuable experience playing, let him play the rest of the way. The games are at least competitive with him playing.

I understand this take is likely to be seen as extreme, but this really is a historically bad roster, led by an incompetent head coach. Extraordinary times, extraordinary measures? I get what you are saying

It sucks they lost but I’m more upset with these coaches, especially on defense. Too much cute ****, line up man up and make em beat you they way. Too much zone, absolute fail not locking Gonzo on neither of their two best WRs.

AVP was good imo, would’ve liked to see him let Maye keep cooking when he was in a rhythm, some run calls weren’t necessary when Maye was balling out.

Agree, Douglas never looked for it.
Oh my I thought it was Boutte...wow poor football IQ from Pop right to three so clueless.

Sometimes reality just smacks you in the face so hard that there really isn't much to say. Maybe some some feel, "What's the point?" The Krafts seem unlikely to do anything about the failures at GM or HC, so why talk about it? I don't feel that way, but I understand how some might.

When there is effort and focus as inconsistent as we see on this team, the usual thing is to fire the coaches. This is the usual thing because it is the smart thing. This team, like its HC's press conferences, is all over the place, headed nowhere.

A tale of “2 #2’s” - one had game changing speed but no bulk, not the best hands, but had just the best practice tape evah! The other had some bulk, a lot less speed, but has the self-proclaimed “best hands in the league”. The real fast one was placed on waivers this week. The slower one had fewer receptions (0) than did our “tackle eligible” (1), and he’d best not suffer a “sophomore jinx” lest he meet the same fate as the first #2….

The Polk thing is just plain weird. I don't get it. He was reported to be outstanding in camp. Now he doesn't know where his feet are or what his hands are for. Weird.

This board had a mass exodus starting when Tom left and even more when Bill left which is disappointing because this board has been very mild.

IF Polk is active next week Mayo should be One and Done...I'm all in for Ben Johnson on Black Monday 2025.
Too early to give up on Polk, but I am with you on Black Monday.

Mayo needs to be gone, and a few others stapled to him on his way out would be great.

Have to wonder if Maye is pressing because he doesn't trust his receivers.
