I am not too stubborn to admit it.
Mac sucks and he may not be fixable.
Have any of the posters in this thread ever been wrong?
I did not think so.
I am still right about BB- excellent coach, horrendous GM who destroyed the team post Brady era.
Other than a couple of bad Throws that Maye would love to have back... don't we just love those Tight spirals in those tight windows.
Exactly: we know Jacoby would have never thrown that it's well pass his limit Five yards.Like Jacoby he has his fleeting moments. That's why they're both backups and not starters.
We've all been wrong about stuff and there's nothing wrong with that. That's why it's fun to talk about it and see how things turn out. But there's posters that take it too personal when they see an opinion they don't like.OK...I was wrong big time on this thread.

Without Bill, the Dynasty never exists. He was pretty lights out until 2005 which started the struggles. 2007 was the only year from 2005-2009 where he knocked it out of the park to put the team together. Too many people sleep on how important the 2010 draft was getting Gronk and Hernandez which re-ignited their eventual Super Bowl runs. The 2012 draft getting Jones and HT and trading for Aqib Talib who looked like a bust in Tampa, helped turned the tide back to being a solid defensive team as well. Had those two drafts been duds, Tom leaves.I am still right about BB- excellent coach, horrendous GM who destroyed the team post Brady era.
I'd say all three things are true. With hindsight it was a bad choice. He also flushed him out and exposed him rather quickly. And you hate Bill he's not your guy. That wasn't an option.
Either Coach Bill's decisions contributed heavily toward Mac Jones turning from a high floor prospect into a flaming dumpster fire, or GM Bill used a first round pick on someone who had no business being on any NFL team as a potential franchise QB. Which is it? It can't be anything else.
Neither of those are very flattering for Bill. That's why it's amusing that Team Bill is using any bad game from Jones as some kind of flex to defend their guy. Lol
Own it? He threw everyone else under the bus and tossed in a couple jabs at Bill for good measure.I haven’t been wrong, but everyone else has been. And they don’t mind me saying that for them.
Props for owning it Sam.

So either BB ruined Jones, or BB picked a guy in the first round that didn't have the makeup to be a franchise starting QB. It's one or the other.
Either way your hoodied hero doesn't look all that great.
2 wrongs don't make a right.I was referring to him acknowledging that he was wrong about Jones.

And just crapping in Bill for the sake of it just makes you a jerk. Am I right @sb1 ?
He was quite good the last time he played the Vikings. Made some plays. That’s what most backups can do… a good game here and there but not a team leader not consistent enough to do it every week.“ Any bad game.”? Every game Mac Jones plays is a bad game. I couldn’t wait for Pederson to have to use him. After gloating about getting him for next to nothing it was only a matter of time until the bag of **** was on fire on his front porch.
It was a fine choice when it was made. Silly for Billy-ites to die on that hill.I'd say all three things are true. With hindsight it was a bad choice. He also flushed him out and exposed him rather quickly. And you hate Bill he's not your guy.
The whole McEnroe thing should have been a sign that he wasn’t the answer. That’s not an endearing trait. Unfortunately Zappe wasn’t a viable alternative. How can you ruin a QB that has a weak arm and weak character? He was already destined for failure.
2. Yes. Not Mac's fault necessarily, it's just the way he is.Matt Patricia is guilty of stripping every ounce of confidence from Mac’s body with historically horrendous coaching
Mac Jones is guilty of being immature and mentally weak without any fortitude in his makeup.
Belichick is guilty of spearheading the most porous drafting of offense skilled positions during a 7 year stretch (2017-2024) by an NFL GM
Mac had the opportunity to make it work, despite the changes in OC. In the end Mac was another example of how hard it is to find a good NFL QB. He started out ok until defenses learned to make him throw to the sidelines or over the top. When MP asked him to make NFL QB throws, things went totally off the rails fueled by Mac's inability to handle pressure. Mac was already done by the time BOB got involved. Hindsight is 20/20, drafting him was the right move at the time. How can you ruin a QB that has a weak arm and weak character? He was already destined for failure.
What was really disappointing to me is that it seemed like he was doing all the right things in the 2021 offseason prior to camp. He worked out and got rid of his baby fat and added muscle. He worked with Tom House on his mechanics to build his arm strength. Going into 2022 I was really optimistic that the end of 2021 was an aberration and he’d prove to be a competent NFL QB and starter for us, even if never elite.Mac had the opportunity to make it work, despite the changes in OC.
