Maybe I hadn’t paid much attention before but I don’t remember the last time halfway into a season where a third of the league is 3-6 or worse and already out of contention.

Weird season.

Yeh it's pretty bad. Only elite teams imo are: KC, Baltimore, Detroit. Maybeee Buffalo. These are the only teams I could see winning a SB. Right now. Things can always change.

The product of the NFL continues to get worse by the year.

With a weak QB class I wonder how many of these teams will punt their first rounder into next season where they hope they can take advantage of the Arch Manning sweepstakes.

Every year it is the same tired old complaints... If the majority of teams are grouped around .500, then the League sucks. If a bunch of teams are really good, which means there will also be a bunch of teams who are really bad, then the League sucks.

The Arch Manning sweepstakes is more likely to pay off in 2027 than 2026. Anyone who tanks next year may be in for a huge disappointment.

Yeah that should be interesting to see when he declares.

There will definitely be a sub 500 team making the post season for sure this season.

I was saying this last night as we watched RedZone (I'm in the UK) So many poor teams all fighting for top three spots in the coming draft. It is weird and not good for the NFL. Or us fans.

Doubtful. There is only one division where it seems possible, and that is the NFC West, but it is more likely that at least one of those schlubs gets reasonably hot and wins a few.

Seattle or LA will be the team that gets in or wait a minute.. the Cardinals may be the sub 500 team that's gets it.. every year you can count on a NFC team being sub 500 to make it.

I just don't get this. What exactly is good for the NFL? Having 26 teams within 1 game of .500? You should see the complaining in these forums when that happens.

Right now there are:
11 teams at .667 or better
11 teams between .333 and .667
10 teams at .333 or worse

I swear, the only thing that would make some people happy would be if there were 24 teams who were 7-2 or better...

Who was the sub-.500 teams last year to make the playoffs?

Your right. My mistake. I was looking at the 16 game schedule. Where one year the commanders made it at 7-9 and the Seahawks as well as the bugs.

I was thinking the other day that there might need to be a comp round ...
Like 3rd or 4th ... in reality that may help a bit but the real world says some of these franchises will always suck.

NIL money has changed all of this. Alot of guys will make more money in college than they ever will in the NFL. Lord knows how much Texas is paying Manning.

Arch Manning will come out whenever the Manning's think a team they approve of can get him. If three dumpster fires are in the top 3 in 2026, they will pass. If the Giants are, then yeah. Hell if we didn't have Maye, they might seriously consider New England.
