Good, because Josh Downs is a stud with Jump ball Joe on my fantasy team.

OTOH one could say if there's one thing Dan Orlovsky (with his QBR of 42 in the Lions 0-16 season) is an expert on, it's lousy QB play.

That's New England's own Dan Orlovsky to you, pal!

I'm glad he sucked in the NFL because he went to Ansonia High.

Ansonia is the ******* of the Naugatuck Valley, says I.

What I recall about Richardson before he was drafted, was that he was big, strong, fast for his size, excellent general athleticism for the QB position, and had a cannon for an arm. However, best case scenario is that he would sit for awhile and receive proper coaching and only then could he perhaps be a solid QB. There were a lot of question marks that came with him and because of just his athletic ability alone and playing the most important position in football, it was suspected that he would be drafted a lot higher than he should have been. He was considered to be a huge reach in the 1st Round because of having so many serious question marks.

Worst kind of pick. Boom or bust in the top 5 is not responsible at all.

One of the more wild rises in recent draft history. He’s barely started 20 games of football since high school or some insane stat like that. If the league wasn’t so quarterback starved he would’ve been a second or third round pick and developed behind a starter and matured. Instead he goes top 5 and is totally unprepared on the field and off and gets benched after starting 10 games.

Taking the third QB in a two-QB draft is pretty risky, so I hear...

Yet, whatcha gonna do?

You're not going anywhere without a QB, and you're not getting one via FA, so you gotta keep burning high draft choices till you hit.

Next QB drafted after Richardson was Will Levis, and we see how that's going.

I'm not saying this is the case with Richardson, but in general, these young players coming out have money in their pocket from their NIL deals, and perhaps don't have the drive to continue any level of success. For every elite, driven Tiger Woods/Tom Brady/Michael Jordan type, there's 100s of kids coming out with a ton of ability and no idea what it takes to make it, never mind be truly great. Further, coaches have to find new ways to get these kids ready. A 20 something with a few mill in the bank and a track record of being the best player on the field his whole life isn't going to respond to hard coaching like Brady did with Bill. Most will reject it. They have already hit the lottery, and they don't need to listen to any BS coach-speak.

I think this is just all cliche. It sounds good especially if you're of the get off my lawn age.

But then there's still guys like Tua who have all the bank they'll ever need and is still willing to scramble his brain for the game, his teammates, and a chance at a SB.

I don't think so. Tua might be the rare one, driven, but I'd say there's many many more who are spoiled brats.
