Per Mike McDaniel: Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa now has cleared the NFL-mandated concussion protocol and will start Sunday’s game vs. the Cardinals. Despite any debate, Tagovailoa will be back behind center Sunday.

Amazing. Good luck to him continuing his career.

another concuss and he will be Tua-na

Spit on thang, rub some dirt, and keep on playing. Good for him don't let people bully you out of your career.

I have a bad feeling he's really going to suffer with life after football.
I do as well…..I think he should think more about his kids and his future…..got plenty of money …..one more hard hit to the head and he will be in bad shape for rest of his life….not worth it

Does he have kids?

Make the most of the now, Tua because the future may involve not recognising your own wife if you take another hit. Brave or foolish? The future will provide the final verdict.

Based on some of the comments I have seen from Tua, he may be in denial of the risks of playing on with all these concussions. He claims there is a "gray area" when it isn't really certain that a lot of concussions cause long term health issues or not and he isn't convinced that getting another concussion or two or six will increase those odds.

For some reason, Tua is reminding me of Reggie Lewis. For those who don't remember, most medical experts said Lewis should retire after he passed out in a game and was found to have a heart defect. These experts included the "dream team" of doctors examining him. Lewis wanted to play and found Dr. Gilbert Mudge who gave him the diagnosis he was looking for that he could return to playing. Lewis died a couple of months later of a massive heart attack.

I wonder if Tua sought out medical advice that he wanted to hear and not medical advice that would tell him the truth.

Over under for him getting concussed again in the first half? Second half? Again? I wonder if he’s going to guardian cap it up. Either way, what’s the over under for him retiring the next time it happens? Not if it happens…when. You know it will. Hope not for the kids sake…

Edit: I know **** about betting. Meant to say the odds of him getting concussed…

100 to 1 he isn't wearing a guardian cap...

While I ‘get’ the whole « we don’t know how badly athletes want to play »…..

I think Tua will be a much different person in 20 years, if not sooner. And while he’s adamant today (and the whole « it’s my life » etc) I am pretty certain he isn’t going to like what he’ll face in the near-ish future.

You do you, Tua. The risks are high for former players w/o the multiple concussion…

You cannot possibly be blaming Roger Goodell for Tua returning to action. Once Tua passes concussion protocol, which he did, Goodell has zero authority whatsoever to banish the guy from the League due to injuries.

That and the coke didn't help his heart out much either.

Go for it, although I think his judgement may be impaired by the fact his brains are more orange juice than anything else at this point.

I think he saw how much money is left due on his contract. If he was medically cleared and chose to retire he would forego $124M.

Pretty good stats. Better than most Pats QBs.
