What do you expect from Maye on Sunday?

@PatsFan2 even if maye day struggle today it will still be better than Brissett did this season. Mayo knew he couldn't keep lying to the media and his team.
It's going to be refreshing to see someone new we have a sample size and I am encouraged.

Passing/rushing Yards, TD passes, int, sacks

I think he’ll be good for 180 yards passing, 30 rush, 1 TD, 1 int and 3 sacks. The stats won’t look like much of an improvement but I predict the eye test will.
I expect him to be on his ass or running for his life. A few flashes of his talent, but probably 3 INTS and 1 TD.

I 100% want to be wrong. If he comes out healthy, it’s a win.

Absolutely agree. It's 5 games to late. Even pioli was saying that the Patriots needed to play maye this season to be confident on what they have. I expect him to do well.. Wolf needs to get him Wr

First for all I do not expect fireworks. Maye is young, talented and has everything to be a good player. No rush, give a kid time to develop and feel he is leader. The only thing I hope is our OLine will play better and won't let Mayo to be hurt.

I don't see how Andrew luck is some tail of caution. He played 16 games each of his first 3 seasons before missing any time. He played some really good football. Just a shame he blew out his shoulder in year 6 but I don't see how playing too soon was at all responsible?

It wasn't playing too soon. It was playing behind a garbage OLine that they never fixed.

I have no idea. If this is their plan, then it's cool. We'll see. 11/15, 150 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT is my guess.

I have high hopes for Maye, but if he fails it's more likely because our offensive line looks like it has since week one.

If they can find him some time to throw, he should be fine after the initial jitters wear off. The Texan's D can rush the passer, so Van Pelt needs to negate that by getting the ball out quick and running the ball.

Agreed, Joe Burrow was on the same career path as Luck. Burn really bright and retire early because your GM builds you the worst line year after year. Hopefully Wolf pulls his head from his rear and doesn't put Maye in a similar position.

I want to see that he knows when to take chances and when not to. No stupid runs where he stays upright the whole time unless he's running out of bounds.

No backfoot throws. No forcing the ball.

With this offensive line, if he does all that.... the stat line might suck in terms of completion percentage, but hopefully it'll improve in terms of sacks and 'oh no!' throws.

One thing is certain, the people screaming loudest to play him will also be the first to scream that he was a terrible pick if he struggles. Most of those crying to play him now didn’t want them to pick him, and they will start shouting about how much he sucks if he doesn’t save them.
Those people will also be the first to say, “That’s NFL football! Rough game,” if he gets hurt, still refusing to acknowledge the wildly elevated risk the Pats are subjecting their rookie to.

You know the QB sucks when special teams is ranked on top 5 and the offense is ranked dead last...

It's just posters looking for reasons to justify the team not starting the 3rd overall pick. What they aren't realizing is the team took the right approach.. they developed Drake since he got here. They started out with the "plan" , Brissett was worse than they expected.. yeah I know the OL played a part.. but even when guys were open he couldn't hit them, couldn't pass more than 10 yards.. held on the the ball forever.. a good QB like drake..makes quick decisions, if he needs to adlib and pick up yards with his athletic ability he does, attempts throws to tight open windows.. does things the defense needs to respect .. no defense respected Brissett.. he gave nothing more than a JAG veteran singing.
Flacco should have been the guy if they really wanted maye to sit and learn from someone IMO.

Football is a high contact sport.. some players do well avoiding injuries some players don't.. the fact is maye is the starter now let's hope the best for him. I know that goes against the few posters on here that seem like they want him to get hurt.. so it's pointless in me even responding to them when maye is our QB now.

People on here want him hurt? That makes no sense. Who are these people?

What I'm trying to say is from the feeling it seems that way i know that people don't want our 3rd overall pick hurt realistically.

Behind that garbage OL luck became an top 5 QB.

I didn't say he wasn't good, he was pretty damn great. Just that his career ended early. Imagine how good he could've been behind an O-Line that protected him. Luck could've had a long, potentially illustrious career.

Oh I highly agree. I know the line wasn't great.. I know indy tried to sure the line up at times for him as he became a great QB..
