I just don’t think Strange with the same body measurements as Matt Light is a Center.
He played some center at the Senior Bowl before the draft. It shouldn't be difficult for him if he's healthy.

And that isn't what I'd call "better than average"

Yes except if it's Mac Jones then he's the worst ever and it's all his fault a Super Bowl team finished 4-13. Lol
I already had to explain to you how averages work... stop, the adults are talking.

I'd take Zappe over Brissett.. give poor wozzy a break he missed his last eye doctor appointment.
Pats probably won't do it but Brissett played like someone who has earned a trip off the roster. Don't know who else is out there to back up Maye though.

He started at LT.

Look at the numbers. Better completion percentage, TD%, INT%, 12 more TD, higher passer rating.

His team was definitely better in 2022 than 2023. Some of his best linemen left and in 2023 his best WR got hurt after a couple games. Lucky for us if he develops into a stud.

Most of the backups haven't played yet how do you know Brissett is better than them?

Either way... it's ok to admit you missed on that one. Happens to everyone.

As usual your right.. I think we could sign Zapp of the Kac roster can't we.. I know Zapp isn't any better but at this point he's better than Brissett.. or we can sign cam

Yup I can read.
Patrick Mahomes 2022: 6.3% TD Rate, 1.9% Int Rate QB Rating 105.2, Yards per game 308.8
Patrick Mahomes 2023: 4.5% TD Rate, 2.3% Int Rate QB Rating 92.6, Yards per game 261.4

By your logic Mahomes, between his 5th and 6th years regressed as a QB, make sense.

Those stats are meaningless, did you not watch EVERY PLAY OF MAYES multiple times? And you concluded he regressed? How did you come up with that? That's some crazy tape review. Or you are Just relying on stats?

He started at LT.
I don't think so, he played guard at the Senior Bowl.

Maybe he practiced everywhere, but his arms aren't super long. I don't see him at tackle.

The best thing to do when you're wrong is take your L and go home...

If they think he is ready, I am all for it. If they are rushing his timeline because Brissett is a disaster, I think it is stupid.

Don't rush him so the Pats can win a few more games in a lost season. That is just silly.

But they feel he has gotten his footwork down, understands how to read defenses at the NFL enough, etc. then playing him will be worth it for his development.

Sitting him or playing him, my opinion is the same. The #1 priority this year is his development. Wins and losses are irrelevant.

The #1 priority is finding out whether he is any good or not. Being a hyped 1st round QB means nothing, as most 1st round QB's bust. The team urgently has to evaluate him vs NFL game competition well in advance of next year's draft.

And at least now the games are worth watching. My guess is Kraft intervened to rescue ticket receipts

We probably won’t know this season but if Brissett provides a similar value at backup as Hoyer did (scout team, mentoring, experience in multiple systems) then we should keep him. He has seen a lot regardless whether he sucks on the field or not.

Many of the experts said he regressed in 2023. It isn't what I say. It is what is generally believed.

And I gave you the stats as just evidence. Not the entire proof. You can provide your evidence to show he didn't regress if you wish.

I think the idea that if Drake doesn’t look good, he could be pulled, is pretty wild. They are already playing the “bad” option, the floor is already set. I think it’s insanely unlikely that Drake ever approaches a level of performance so bad that anyone would want to go back to what Brissett was giving them. He will make mistakes but he will at least make a “wow” throw or run every so often.

Well, we know he can take a few thousand hits from his time in college.

Brissett could use the break either way. I don't remember him staring down receivers or going into freeze mode as much as I've watched lately.

I do have confidence that Jacoby will handle this like a true pro and help Maye anyway he can.

On the D, it's Mapu time, I guess...freaking Pepper...

Maye can't be coddled as a precious binky while his teammates are out there playing and risking career ending injuries. And we actually need to see how he handles pressure and adversity. It's time to start scoring this pick.
