From Josh's own lips, he did not have a successor clause in his contract. If he did, he would not have left. He wanted another shot at HC, so he left for Vegas. Mayo? I don't know what was promised before hand, but that clause was not inserted into his contract until 2023, when real thought of replacing Belichick came to the fore.The job was already his. Remember the contract had a successor clause like Josh had when he spurred indy.. and yes that season the Rams were putting up numbers on teams.. thier offense was magnificent. Maybe not historic so to speak but that Rams team was dam good on offense and defense. On Mayo we already knew something was up when he was asked not to take interviews with the Browns, Ravens and I believe the Falcons for DC positions. The pot was sweetened for him by RK.
