Lazar: Patriots Lockerroom Teetering on a Mutiny

So you think it’s ok to use a word like "mutiny" and then retract it and you are not concerned. I think you need to re think.
My concern isn’t the reporters choice of words, my concern is the team.

Phil Perry backed way off this opinion. I trust Perry, and I trust Lazar too, so I am conflicted. Truth is probably in between. They have a lot of young guys now that didn't play during the Dynasty Years. I can see someone losing their **** and Lazar having access to it, and I can see Perry seeing the aftermath after folks calmed down and him saying it was not that bad.

He has comments from players that back it up and the on field antics are real and verifiable
Antics like throwing your hands up in frustration in the heat of the game and one guy upset that people may be freelancing on D. Wow, story of the century.

I think the truth probably varies by player. I also believe that it's not as bad several days removed from the last game as it was the day after the game. But every time they go suit up and it looks the same, the guys who are agitated are going to get more agitated.

Frustration isn't in the same league as mutiny. He was giving his overwrought opinion.
So let’s say he exaggerated by using the word “mutiny”
Are you saying that he made the whole thing up? That there is no discord? That players aren’t unhappy? That they aren’t composing? That there isn’t a qb controversy?
Are they signing kumbaya and lazar one day just decided to begin making things up?

While watching all the NFL pregame shows that predicted the patriots would easily win over the 49ers.
I can get Andy Johnson back for you.

I'm saying there's no report out there other than Pop (who apologized for throwing his hands up, BTW) and Godchaux saying he thinks some guys are freelancing.

Due to their record and how they've been playing, I can see players being frustrated but to the point of mutiny? Absolutely not.

He is in the locker room reporting what he is seeing. Why would he lie?
Perhaps he has been reading your post for awhile?

Learning from the GOAT liar.

I do think "mutiny" is strong language. You can't really have a true mutiny; the players can't overthrow the coaches and take over the team. I think the term here is meant to say that they are on the verge of giving up and not caring anymore. Trade demands. Etc.
I think it's more directed at Mayo and the other coaches. If he loses the players' confidence in the team, it's going to be really bad.

And more important than just where the team stands now, is how does Mayo respond? Does he stick to the top-driven decision to not play Maye? Or does he concede to the players despite what Wolf and AVP want, and put Maye in? That's the part that's interesting to me. There's a power play going on and we don't really know who has the power.

It wasn’t throwing your hands up. Polk left the field on the pick 6 while the play was still going on.
Douglas was “demonstrable” and it was so bad he publicly admonished himself for it.
Players criticizing other players for being selfish is a huge issue, both in that players are not doing their job, and that the culture in the locker room that’s losing is to throw blame at others. Much like the DC coordinating saying “it’s not the Xs and Os”

Bottom line is are you honestly telling me you think there are no problems in the locker room, the leadership is good and the culture is strong and they are headed in the right direction?

Was Lazar one of the people who told your cat the patriots were a lock to beat the 9ers?

Personally I don't value coaching anywhere near as much as I do player evaluation and right now we have a roster full of average or below average players.
It takes both.

I believe this is a different team with Vrabel.

He withdrew what he said. Thats a start
Ignore what the fanbase has already been witness to....

Godchaux popping off publicly (wonder what he had to say to his teammates in the locker room?)
"Meh!"
Douglas' unrestrained demonstrations of frustration on field (Polk too)
"They don't count"

Shoot the messenger............Ignore the message
A PatsFans rite of passage

He’s a patriot employee and the patriots took it down.
I mean if your goal is to bury your head in the sand, then covering up bad stories is certainly a good start.
By a bad story are you talking about the story being anti-Patriot or a poor story by the writer?
It could be a little of both. There could be issues within the team but they're being overblown in the telling of the story.

Did #1larrymaroney work?

IT's hilarious that the Patriots state-run media empire is pulling critical content, and even more hilarious is that Lazar had to make a "retraction". I'm sure Krafty Bob had the torture implements attached to Lazar as Lazar made his jailhouse "confession"....said it a million times...and in the words of Michael Ray Richardson, "the ship be sinkin'"

Mayo made a comment this week that I thought was troubling. And I could be reading too much into it. But, he was asked if he was benching Stevenson and he said he was considering it and then said “how can I say ball security equals job security and but bench him”

It sounded to me like a guy who is thinking it would hurt the team to bench Stevenson but he made a comment that says he should so now he is conflicted. I’ve seen similar comments with the Maye situation where he seems to contradict himself.

From my vantage point it feels like a guy who likes to make brash, defining statements about who we are, what we do, etc etc but then when that thing happens he is conflicted with the conviction to stick to it.

Again, I may be reading too much into it but it is unsettling.

Oh boy. Triumph is on tilt. Whenever you dig a hole too deep you go back to your Lawrence Maroney fantasy.
Just so you are aware, everyone understands this is shorthand for admitting you are wrong but lacking courage to say it out loud.

Clearly I am referring to people who immediately dismiss any story that they don’t like.
It’s what politics has done to our culture.
If you like the story it’s true, if you don’t like it’s a lie. End of story, no thought, no examination, no verification. And even worse it’s now becoming if you don’t like the source you disagree before you even read it.
