A few bad ones he fumbled in all Four games.I think the only guy making plays should be playing even if he made a few bad ones.

I wouldn't place too much hope in Jake Andrews. Perhaps he'll be a surprise, but I'll wait and see. We need a stud at Center too.The end of the road is near for David Andrews... Ten years in, he's played what, three full seasons?
I think he's a good center... Just think it's time to hang up the cleats...
Maybe Jake Andrews will be a viable replacement... But he's hurt too... Add another "need" to the draft list
Who do you call when your windshield's busted?Center is now a high draft priority, right up there with LT. Andrews has always been an adequate center, making up in smarts for being undersized. (The other Andrews was supposed to be the in case of fire, break glass standby. Turns out he is glass).
retirement.Another nail in the coffin of a lost season. They're going to suck with or without him so he might as well get surgery now and be ready fornext year.
Strange shouldn't be counted on. Even if he becomes a solid starting Center, he'll be wanting the 5th Year of his rookie deal picked up (for which he's not done anything 3 years into his rookie contract as it is.Put Strange at Center if/when he comes back (if he can do it at least as well as Leverett). He'll need work, but he's got a high football IQ by all reports and certainly the athleticism. He played it a bit in college and had a lot of people nodded when he did it at the Senior? Bowl (one of the all-star bowls), if I remember right.
They NEED to know what they have on the OL going into FA and the Draft. If they can field a core of ?-Sow-Strange-Onwenu-Wallace that's certainly fixable. I've seen too much of Onwenu at tackle - I don't care about his contract. He's a potential all-pro guard, not so much at tackle. Put Wallace where he belongs and see if he belongs.
Going into the off-season with that core group, four starters in place, doesn't mean you don't look for upgrades, but makes the transition and completing the OL a much easier task. PAY a good LT either in FA or in a trade with a team shedding CAP, or, if nothing is available, there's your 1st Round pick.
This season was never going to be a good season. Losing Andrews just means the line is destined to be more chaotic and he's another piece we should replace soon.Another nail in the coffin of a lost season. They're going to suck with or without him so he might as well get surgery now and be ready for next year.
Hard to accept Brissett flat out sucking with the future of the franchise itching to play and then say 1 play a game means the only guy on offense playing decently should get benched.A few bad ones he fumbled in all Four games.
Supposedly his decision on the surgery was about availability next year. This sucks. If he is done for the year, I don't expect him to ever play again. Rumors of him retiring have been floated for the last two years. My guess is he probably won't want to try to make a comeback at age 33.
Huh?Strange shouldn't be counted on. Even if he becomes a solid starting Center, he'll be wanting the 5th Year of his rookie deal picked up (for which he's not done anything 3 years into his rookie contract as it is.
I stand corrected. I knew it was no more than 3 years. But my premise is still applicable. He's been a failure just as an OG (especially for one taken in the 1st Round, although that's Bill's fault for over drafting him and not Strange's).Huh?
Strange has played 2 years. He is under contract next year and the 5th year option is 2026.
He started all season as a rookie and was playing very well, really our best OL when he was injured last year, and that was while playing all year with a bad knee.
He wasn’t a failure at all. He started every game his rookie season. In year 2 he injured his knee in camp and it was an issue all season but he was their best OL and playing really well when the knee finally went. That was pretty much the unanimous view at the time. This is year 3.I stand corrected. I knew it was no more than 3 years. But my premise is still applicable. He's been a failure just as an OG (especially for one taken in the 1st Round, although that's Bill's fault for over drafting him and not Strange's).
